Ever since Blizzard announced Player Housing, players have been waiting for one very specific thing: the moment someone turns their house into a full-blown nightclub. Other MMOs—especially Final Fantasy XIV—have shown how creative housing communities can get when they’re given the space. People build cafes, theatres, and of course, nightclubs that function as the social heartbeat of their RP communities.
So now that WoW has joined the party? Everyone’s been watching closely to see who would be the first to kick off the inevitable era of house parties—and we might already have our answer.
No Time Wasted Building Party Spaces
Around the 1:25 mark of this YouTube short, you can see multiple players in streamer McConnell’s house, all doing the /dance emote.
With people dancing, and music blasting on McConnell’s stream, it’s exactly the moment players expected the second housing went live. But it’s still surreal to see it happening so soon.
Expect a Lot More Soon
If FFXIV has taught us anything, it’s that player-run nightclubs eventually become server-wide subcultures—and honestly, it feels like WoW’s RP community has been waiting years for this moment.
Decorators on Reddit have already been showing off their own nightclub builds, with one even building a secret nightclub hidden behind a sliding bookcase.
The clubs are being built. The raves are coming. And someone, somewhere, is already building a velvet-rope VIP room and a dancefloor made entirely out of rugs.
