For a very long time, ElvUI has been the first addon most players install, usually the moment after downloading the game. But the clean, modern UI we’ve all relied on? It’s not coming with us to Midnight!
From Mythic raiders to casuals, ElvUI made WoW feel smoother! It stripped away Blizzard’s default frames and gave players full control. ElvUI developer LuckyOne explained that the current API doesn’t allow custom unit frames in Midnight. Because of that, the team’s putting development on hold, at least until Blizzard changes the course…
As you can imagine, the community isn’t exactly happy about the news.

As you probably know, ElvUI isn’t the only addon that will cease its development going into Midnight. Due to the current limitations, WeakAuras will be gone too.
Blizzard has said they’re working closely with addon devs, so here’s hoping the ElvUI team’s feedback makes a difference.
