It’s already back! While Silvermoon City is set to make a big comeback in Midnight, being the new hub for the expansion (if a “little” Alliance-unfriendly), it’s already seeing a lot more traffic!
The Reveal
It seems the Midnight announcement information has spurred players into action. We found out a lot more about the revamped Blood Elf capital during gamescom, and even got a great look at it! Aside from Alliance being kill-on-sight in a big part of the city (which was later explained to be less of the city than anticipated), it was all good news for everyone! We also got to see the actual city revamp, in glorious cinematic visuals:

All this excitement seems to have bled over to live servers as well! There have been plenty of threads talking about how Silvermoon is once again bustling with players! Well, at least compared to the very dead state it was in before.
Players are replaying the Blood Elf starting experience, since it will be very relevant for Midnight, with all the zones getting revamped. And there’s even max-level chars coming back to remind themselves of what it all looked like.
In case you’re wondering how the player managed to see other players on the map, it’s the Total Roleplay 3 addon, which allows you to see others that use it as well.
And while this is really cool for roleplayers, plenty more have also ventured back into the Blood Elf lands. Are you going to check out the Burning Crusade’s Eversong Woods, Silvrmoon City, etc. before Midnight arrives as well?
