The twentieth week of Mythic+ in this season is over, and Nightstalker314 is taking a look at the weekly data provided by Raider.IO. Over the holidays, M+ activity didn’t drop as sharply as usual. Retail M+ metrics saw a decrease of just 2.15%, largely driven by reduced activity in China. Remix M+ appears to be approaching its floor, with focus shifting back toward lower key levels. But let’s look at the details.
Weekly Total Run Performance Compared To Other Seasons
The global drop-off of 2.15% once again reflects different patterns across the major regions. Chinese metrics were 10.20% lower compared to the previous week, a steady trend for now. Meanwhile, the remaining four regions showed an uptick of 4.38%. Compared to prior seasons, TWW S3 is still well behind, but remains about as steady as they were in their final weeks.

The global share of Chinese players’ activity has fallen to a seasonal low point in week 20. Just 41.10% of all runs can be attributed to the region. So far, we don’t have much data on activity on the Titan Reforged servers. For now, this variety shifts focus away from Retail WoW. Maybe this model is worth a try on the Western servers.

Legion Remix continues to drop faster than Retail, but this decline has slowed down over the last week. Just 16.12% fewer runs were completed. The event lasts for two more weeks. Players may finish checking off content before it ends, and M+ numbers could drop below 100k runs per week. This week had one minor oddity: An almost even split among the three major regions for this mode. They all represented between 31.5% and 32.5% of all runs.

Total Runs Across All S3 Dungeons
By now, the overall split has almost created a two-tier system. The three most popular dungeons were quite ahead of the rest. The order had reverted to the regular pattern, with Ara-Kara once again sitting in last place. A slight improvement happened for the average success rate by 0.31 percentage points to 88.01%. Groups can deal with the Devour affix much more easily. This might be the reason it will get buffed in S1 of Midnight.

Despite a worse performance than in the previous week, Eco-Dome (92.46%) was still ahead of Gambit (92.32%). Streets of Wonder (90.73%) and Halls (89.06%) once more took the following places. The Dawnbreaker (86.34%) recovered from the previous drop and led the lower half, ahead of Priory (86.04%). Floodgate (84.02%) remained almost unchanged and clearly ahead of Ara-Kara (80.13%), which at least managed to stay above 80%.
Split Across All S3 Key Levels
72.96% of all runs were completed at key level 10 and higher. This is a clear decrease from 75% in the previous week. Key level 10 once more took the main focus with 25.37% of all runs. The relative share and absolute numbers increased for all key levels below 10, by 5% to 9%. Key level 13 also saw a slight bump. This might be tied to the last efforts to secure a 3,000 rating for the KSL mount. The chasm from key level 18 to 20 continues to grow. Above it, teams are fighting over the 0.1% title. Activity only increased at key level 21.

The overall increase in the success rate was quite visible for the lower key levels. But the step down from level 6 to 7 (-6.5 points) and the step up from 9 to 10 (+7 points) were as prominent as ever. The impact of the first Fortified or Tyrannical affix is still massive and quite a hurdle for new players.
Legion Remix Dungeon Split
The dungeon split barely moved compared to the previous week. The order also only slightly shifted. Players seem to be more willing to deal with a rough Court of Stars key, which still depletes a lot more often. We can only hope that the redesign of Seat of the Triumvirate works for most in S1 of Midnight, because even in this simple Remix re-run, it remains unpopular.

Legion Remix Key Level Split
The key level 200 ceiling wasn’t broken in week 12, but teams so far managed to time a key level 198 in week 13. The unlimited power grind has become less relevant lately. Lower keys saw a slightly higher relative share, and the focus shifted back towards the level 20 to 30 range.

Level 20 saw an increase from 5.32% to 5.83%. A smaller uptick was visible for level 30 from 6.15% to 6.21%. Level 40 decreased from 3.50% to 3.35%, and level 50 fell from 2.25% to 2.02%. During the final weeks, the high-end rewards should see some last-ditch efforts. But interest in them may have already been satisfied.
Conclusion and Week 21 Forecast
With just 2 more weeks to go, both versions of M+ show a shift towards lower key levels and isolated focus on certain cosmetic rewards. The changes for the reward track in S1 of Midnight might boost long-term interest in higher-level keys. But for a lot of players, the climb towards +18 might be too punishing and also too tempting at the same time. A combination that could backfire.
As of this writing, 120 hours after the US reset, hourly numbers for the main regions are showing a major jump for the EU and US. Metrics for both increased by more than 20%. Chinese players are only slightly ahead of their performance last week. The dungeon event quest continues to boost activity even late into the season. We will look at the details in the next breakdown.
