Horde Players Lose Their Version of Pit of Saron in Midnight Season 1

The Pit of Saron is making its return in the Midnight Season 1 dungeon pool, and it’s grabbing the attention of the players already because of its revamp.

The dungeon is available for testing on Mythic+, Mythic and Heroic difficulties, and it appears the Horde version of the Pit of Saron is gone. Horde players will not be able to join Lady Sylvanas Windrunner, and will instead have to follow Lady Jaina Proudmoore.

Another Dungeon, Another Alliance-Only Route

Some players are upset with Blizzard defaulting to the Alliance version of an instance again. This is the second time in as many expansions we’ve seen the Alliance version of an instance picked over the Horde instance. Siege of Boralus’ return in The War Within Season 1 made us do the Alliance version of the dungeon instead of the Horde’s version.

Others are wondering why they couldn’t implement the Pit of Saron like they did the Dawn of the Infinites dungeon in Dragonflight, where the group leader’s faction would determine which instance you’d get. In the case of DOTI, the Time-Lost Battlefield boss encounter would change depending on the faction leader.

Other players are fine with it being only one faction for the purpose of keeping M+ consistent. Lore-wise, the Alliance version is also canon.

What do you think about it?
