With Legion Remix around the corner, Blizzard’s testing out the waters with a new outdoor difficulty called Heroic World Tier inspired by the Diablo franchise. We’re taking a closer look at what you can expect from the new difficulty!
What’s Heroic World Tier Difficulty?
Legion Remix introduces a higher difficulty for open world content. Mobs will hit harder but also provide better loot. Your XP gains from kills are increased by 500% while in this mode.
How to Turn on Heroic World Tier in Legion Remix
At the Infinite Bazaar in Dalaran is a Console of Infinite Chaos that you must interact with to enter Heroic World Tier difficulty. This will bring up a window telling you that Heroic World Tier significantly increases the difficulty of outdoor activities.
You need to be at least Level 10 to activate Heroic World Tier difficulty.
Should You Enable Heroic World Tier at Low Levels?
Absolutely no. Activating it at Level 10 makes mobs one-shot you and you will end up spending minutes to kill and Elite. The increased XP gains simply won’t be worth it unless you’ve farmed a lot of gear, which is why you should save this difficulty for max level when farming Bronze and Infinite Power are your main priority. When your character is better geared up, it’s easier to defeat mobs in Heroic World Tier.
How to Leave Heroic World Tier in Legion Remix
Your character will gain access to the 
Temporal Retreat, which lets you return to the Normal World Tier. If you happen to die often, you can also talk to the Spirit Healer to lower your difficulty.
Heroic World Tier Basics
Heroic World Tier increases the difficulty of mobs in the outside world. It doesn’t affect quest objectives. Mobs will come with new affixes and better loot. For instance, this mob comes with the Imperious affix that causes nearby allies to deal +25% more damage and it also increases the mob’s health by +10%.
Defeating mobs in Heroic World Tier yields better loot, including Bronze and Infinite Power for your Artifact weapon. The mobs also drop a ton of scrolls for you to use.
Raid Gear Without Raiding
Infinite Caches from quests have a chance to drop 
Corrupted Thorns of the Dream. Combine 10 pieces to create an item from the Emerald Nightmare raid. This is the initial raid available in Legion Remix in the first phase. When more phases launch, this will create an item from the current raid tier, allowing players to get raid gear without even entering the raid, which is cool.
Awesome Set Rewards
Players who complete 100 World Quests in Heroic World Tier with their Legion Timerunners will receive the 
Heroic Broken Isles World Quests IV achievement and the Sargerei Commander’s Voidscarred Regalia set.
Legion Remix Only Feature for Now…
While Heroic World Tier Difficulty is Legion Remix exclusive feature for now, it would be definitely cool to see something like that in retail WoW. Hopefully, Blizzard will be able to implement something like that in the future depending on how the community embraces the feature.
