Patch 11.2 brings back one of the most-desired expansion enders: a permanent augment rune that boosts your stats and never leaves your bag! This time around, the gold sink dial has been tuned all the way up and it’s been put behind the Renown grind.
How to Get the Ethereal Augment Rune?
Ethereal Augment Rune increases your Primary Stat by +733 by 1 hour. But it requires Renown Rank 18 with the K’aresh Trust and a hefty price tag of 100K Gold before discounts.
If that sounds like too much pain for a permanent rune, Blizzard also implemented another way of obtaining augment runes.
Second Option for Raiders
Players who reach Rank 9 with Manaforge Vandals, the raid-exclusive Renown will unlock 3 
Soulgorged Augment Rune dropping from The Soul Hunters boss encounter in the Manaforge Omega raid. There’s also a chance for the boss to drop 3 additional runes.
Keep in mind these runes are not permanent and will get consumed upon use, but they persist through death.
Which Rune Should You Choose?
It really boils down to your needs. If you want a permanent rune that lasts until the end of the expansion, go grind K’aresh Trust Renown! If you don’t, that’s fine, because during Week 1 of the raid, you will be able to get them from the Soul Hunters encounter.
