Players Fear WoW Midnight’s Story Is Doomed Without the Rest of the Horde

Midnight is heavily Blood Elf-focused. That makes sense—we are in Silvermoon. But if you’re expecting to see Orcs, Tauren, or Forsaken rallying to defend their Horde allies, you’re going to be waiting a bit longer.

Across Reddit and Blizzard forums, the same question keeps popping up: where is the rest of the Horde?

Is It Just a Matter of Time?

One explanation is time. Players have pointed out that Midnight’s campaign feels like it takes place over a very short timespan. Arator’s campaign is essentially a desperate scramble—racing to recover Light-infused artifacts to strengthen the Sunwell and keep that beam burning for just a little longer.

So, has the Horde just not had time to arrive yet? Maybe.

But this is Azeroth. We have portals in every capital city. We’ve crossed continents for less. The idea that no meaningful reinforcements could arrive—or at least be acknowledged—feels a little strange.

Not Exactly a United Front

Instead of a broader Horde presence, what we’ve actually seen is Blood Elves insulting outsiders, such as their Zandalari Troll allies. You wouldn’t be crazy for thinking the Blood Elves are operating independently rather than part of a faction-wide war effort!

Will the Horde Show Up Later?

Midnight has clearly been designed to have an elven-focused opening chapter. And it’s great! Silvermoon is at the heart of the expansion. Blizzard often rolls out broader faction involvement over patches rather than at launch.

Will the rest of the Horde step in later? Probably.

When do players want it? As soon as possible.
