We have an awesome community-found trick for you today! Mythic+ players will love this one, as it’s extremely easy and removes basically all spam advertisements from the Group Finder!
The Ultimate Ad Blocker
The excellently named otterchaos7 shared something they found out recently and helped a whole lot of players! When searching for Mythic+ groups, all you have to do to remove those many, many boosting ads is simply set the minimum Mythic+ rating to 1! Head to the filter section of the Group Finder, scroll down past the individual dungeons, and there it is!
This will remove most, if not all of them, since these ads are placed there by alt accounts that never stepped into a dungeon, let alone completed one! Obviously, you can set the rating higher as well, but even a simple 1 should suffice. Other filters work too, like requiring a tank or healer in the group.
Players have been beset by this advertising onslaught for a long time. It’s particularly present on NA realms, while the EU side of things is a bit lighter on them. But this very clickbait-sounding “one simple trick”, really is just that. And it really will help!
The (Small) Problem
Now, this doesn’t come without a potential drawback, as few custom solutions do. If everyone started using this filter trick, legitimate new players would never find groups! If you haven’t gotten any M+ rating yet, this would filter out your beginner key as well. However, if you’re looking for even slightly higher keys than the starter ones, this shouldn’t be an issue. It’s extremely unlikely someone with no rating lists a +3-5 key and up. So just make sure not to use this method if you’re starting out or want to farm some really low keys!
