Players Think a Leaked Blizzard Timeline Just Revealed Classic+ Release Window

With project Camelot being all the rage, the community has exploded with more information, speculation, and hopes for the unannounced project. Let’s take a look at one interesting leak that started circling last week.

Blizzard Internal Franchise Slate “Leak”

This is one of the most eye-catching “leaks” to surface since “Camelot” came ot life. An alleged Blizzard internal timeline.

While it has become popular this week, this image first surfaced on Reddit back in August 2025. Proof of it can be found on the Wayback Machine. While not entirely proving its legitimacy, it is strongly supported by attributing the name “Camelot” to the Classic environment almost a year before the recent datamining findings.

Timeline Forecast

Looking at the timeline present, it seems consistent with plans laid out in 2024. The overall timeline fits, but there are slight delays with the Classic Progression timeline, with TBC launching in Q1 2026 instead of late Q4 2025. However, delays are not surprising for plans laid out more than a year in advance.

More interestingly, it shows Camelot as releasing in Q3 2026, which, while feasible, would mean a release before or shortly after BlizzCon. These plans have likely changed in the 2 years since, so we shouldn’t take that as gospel. Or perhaps it could be a timeline for a public beta.

Classic Progression

Besides Camelot, the timeline also confirms something the community has been wondering, which is the plans for Anniversary realms. From the plans, we see that the current Anniversary realms are likely meant to progress towards Wrath of the Lich King, past TBC. The current progression realms will be staying in Mists of Pandaria, likely creating MoP-Era stasis realms.

After Wrath releases in Anniversary realms, a new set of fresh realms is scheduled to release around 2028, likely starting a new Vanilla -> Wrath cycle. This likely means we’ll have Wrath-Era stasis realms as well, joining existing Classic and future MoP-Era ones.

Wrath of the Lich King Awkward Position

The timeline has, however, some awkwardness with the Wrath of the Lich King anniversary release. The timeline has it releasing slightly after the release of Camelot. If this projection becomes reality, it will likely mean Wrath anniversary realms will be dead on arrival, with the highly anticipated project Camelot taking the spotlight, releasing right before it.

Live Ops Observation

One thing that is interesting to observe is the comment next to Camelot: “Live Ops”. This nomenclature is currently used only to refer to Mainline/Midnight content, which receives constant updates/new features. Could this mean Blizzard is intending Classic+ to be something akin to Mainline, with a patch cycle and new/updated features over time? This would effectively mean maintaining a second MMO, since the scope of the current Classic realms and their team is incredibly reduced from their Midnight counterparts.

Other Lines: Warcraft RTS and ARPG

The timeline also “reveals” more Warcraft-universe projects, including something fans have been clamoring for a long time. If the timeline is to be believed, we might finally have “Warcraft 4”, named Warcraft Chronicles, in 2028. After the flop from Warcraft III Reforged, there isn’t much hope in the RTS scene for Blizzard, but dedication to a new game could amend this relationship.

The release of this RTS is linked to an “Anime series” which is… interesting to say the least. It would likely feature the same story from this upcoming game, so it is uncertain if it would be an already-told story or a brand new one. Suffice to say, it would be a promotional release for the new game.

Another highlight is the “Arthas ARPG” line. While it is only a name, players are already dreaming of an ARPG game that you play as the former Prince of Lordaeron through waves of Scourge forces. The game could even feature other Warcraft III characters like Jaina, Uther, and Muradin.

The Arthas ARPG line also hints at a simultaneous launch of an Arthas Live-Action series. This series could finally bring the story of Warcraft III to the TVs. Imagine something similar to Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, but with the Warcraft III story instead.

Old Leaks and Speculation

At the end of the day, even if they are real, these are plans from 2024. A lot has changed in the past two years, and it wouldn’t be the first nor the final time something gets changed or cancelled by Blizzard, so take these with a large spoon of salt.

However, many of the features and expected dates in this presented timeline are reasonable, and it fits Blizzard’s general plans, speaking from experience. If they are not true and just another prank on the internet, it is still fun to speculate on what the future of the Warcraft franchise will be.
