This Cave in Ashenvale Might be Keeping You From Kalimdor Explorer

If you’re a player looking to complete your Loremaster and Exploration achievements, one place in Ashenvale has stood in the way of players for over 21 years.

The Hollow Vale in Ashenvale is one of the trickier to places to discover. This is because the map will actually “uncover” the area when discovering the Raynewood Retreat to the south.

Players will often head towards the hidden part of the map just east of where it’s located, only to not discover anything, leading to frustration.

However, dicovering The Hollow Vale requires going towards the cave. As shown on the map below, you can see the path to The Hollow Vale, along with the coordinates to the entrance. (55.28, 33.92)

In Wrath of the Lich King and earlier, discovering the Hollow Vale was really tricky, as it required players to physically enter the cave.

With the the implementation of flying across Azeroth in Cataclysm, discovering The Hollow Vale became much easier, but it can still be tricky because of how the map uncovers it. Players can discover it now by flying directly overhead and landing inside the Vale. (54.95, 39.72)

This isn’t a unique problem to Ashenvale. Throughout the history of the game, several locations have been notoriously tricky to find, with players accidentally finding them through questlines or exploring random paths.

There’s 21 years of Azeroth to explore! Have fun!
