Since the end of Legion Remix in January, players have been asking the obvious question: what’s next? Right now, all signs seem to point to one expansion—Shadowlands.
Sylvanas Drops a Suspicious Line
The first and arguably biggest hint comes from the March on Quel’Danas raid finale cinematic. Sylvanas Windrunner makes her return, and states that “the Shadowlands are not at all what they seem.”
That line from Silvermoon’s Ranger-General was enough to raise eyebrows. Shadowlands was an expansion that leaned heavily into “the reality behind reality”, and now Sylvanas is doubling down as she pledges to “uncover the truth”.
Revisiting the Shadowlands with that framing would fit perfectly with how Remix events recontextualise older content, rather than just replaying for the sake of it.
A New Mount… But Only for CN Realms
Another curious clue is a Revendreth-themed mount that has appeared on the Titan Reforged Chinese-exclusive servers. As MrGM reports, this mount is not in-game yet—but this coffin-inspired mount is a direct nod to Revendreth.
This is not the only Venthyr-themed item that’s recently been discovered. Thraun Gaming highlights a transmog set directly inspired by the Harvester’s Court, though its source is not currently known.
Lothraxion’s “Death”
Lothraxion is currently in a strange space, with many players doubting whether he actually died in Nexus-Point Xenas or not. His existence bridges (or bridged) Light vs Death vs Nathrezim manipulation, and provides a direct narrative link between Midnight and the Shadowlands. Whether Lothraxion physically returns or not, references to him could be used to deepen the Venthyr/Nathrezim storyline, especially if the goal is to reframe Shadowlands as “not what it seemed”.
So… Is It Actually Happening?
Right now, nothing is confirmed. But between Sylvanas’s hints, datamined mounts and cosmetics, and ongoing community speculation, things are starting to feel less like coincidence and more like a setup.
If nothing else, one thing is clear: the Shadowlands might not be as “finished” as we thought.
