Is Soridormi Worth Using in Patch 11.1.5 Horrific Visions? Our Test Reveals a Major Scaling Problem

Staff's Avatar by Staff

In Patch 11.1.5’s version of Horrific Visions, Blizzard introduced Soridormi, a NPC companion, aiming to make solo runs more accessible.

But after a lot of testing, we’ve discovered she might be doing more harm than good, drastically increasing mob health depending on her role!

The Setup

We ran a series of tests on a Frost Mage (Item Level 673) in the Horrific Visions of Stormwind, focusing on the Fallen Riftwalkers near the entrance to Alleria’s room.

All runs were performed with 1 mask active that increases enemy health by 25%, but we used the same mask in every test scenario, so the relative differences remain valid.

We measured mob health under four conditions:

  1. No Companion
  2. Soridormi as Tank
  3. Soridormi as Healer
  4. Soridormi as DPS

Visual Comparison of Mob Health

Below are screenshots from each test scenario showing the Fallen Riftwalker’s mob health values with Soridormi in different roles.

Mob Health Scaling by Soridormi Role

Soridormi RoleFallen Riftwalker HPHealth Increase% Increase vs No Companion
None4,647K
Tank8,598K+3,951K+85%
Healer7,343K+2,696K+58%
DPS9,295K+4,648K+100%

What This Means

Well, hiring Soridormi significantly increases mob health, and her performance in each role doesn’t fully compensate for the added difficulty.

  • DPS Spec resulted in the highest health jump, a full 100% more than no companion.
  • Tank Spec resulted in +85% more health.
  • Healer spec increased mob health by 58%.

So, Is Soridormi Worth It?

Right now, the answer is no, not for well-geared players. Our test shows that running solo without Soridormi leads to lower mob health, faster kills, and more efficient clears.

Right now as things stand, Soridormi seems to introduce more challenge than support.
