This Website Reveals WoW’s Unreleased Zones and Hidden Developer Areas

noclip is a website allowing users to explore maps from various video games—and now this includes World of Warcraft. Not only does noclip include zones from Classic to Wrath, but it also includes some of WoW’s unreleased Classic zones. Let’s take a look!

The Dragon Isles, Developer Island

Whilst the Dragon Isles, as we know them, were introduced in Dragonflight, the original Dragon Isles have been in the game files much longer.

PvP Zone 02 (“Azshara Crater”)

Azshara Crater was originally intended to be an Epic Battleground, functioning similarly to Alterac Valley. Whilst not entirely finished, this zone is the most complete of the bunch.

Verdant Fields, Emerald Dream

noclip shows the unreleased Emerald Dream to have three subzones. Verdant Fields is the first, with some very brightly coloured plants, flower arches, and some interesting writing on the ground!

Emerald Forest, Emerald Dream

Emerald Forest features green trees with swirling exposed roots.

Untextured Canyon, Emerald Dream

Untextured Canyon does what it says on the tin—it’s a giant untextured canyon with a few trinkets here and there.

Scarlet Monastery Prototype

While Scarlet Monastery looks much the same, this version connects all four original dungeons into one huge dungeon!

Test Maps

There are also various test maps included on noclip, which are fun to explore to see how developers created Azeroth!

We’d say noclip is definitely worth a visit!
