Tuning Shakeup: BM and Aug Rise, New No.1 Arrives in Week 5 Raid Logs

Starym's Avatar by Starym

It’s a big week as we not only have the effects of the tuning, but we’re also switching to Mythic as our primary focus! Beast Mastery and Augmentation are the big winners after the class changes, gaining a massive amount of ground and looking to go up even higher. Frost DK is taking over at the very top, and there’s plenty more to see as well, so let’s dive in.

Raid and Mythic+ Tank and Healer Logs, Week 5
Mythic+ DPS Logs, Week 4
Mythic+ Spec Popularity Week 4.5

Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.

Mythic

Overall Damage 95th Percentile

This is our first look at the high percentiles on Mythic, so we’re comparing with Heroic for this week only. The top 3 is the same as in the lower difficulty, but No.1 and No.3 are switched up! Marksmanship sits at the very top, while Arcane is down in 3rd, with Destruction sitting stably pretty in 2nd. Frost DK is higher here as well, two spots up in 4th, while Fury is in the exact same spot.

If you were wondering just how big those Beast Mastery buffs were, well, pretty huge! The spec was down in literally dead last in Heroic, and very close to it in Mythic. It’s up in 7th now after them, a breezy 18ish spots climbed, and is likely to go even higher next week! Fire is in the exact same spot as Heroic, while Windwalker is doing a bit worse, closing out the top 10 here. Arms is another large outlier, as it was all the way down in the bottom 3 in Heroic, but is sitting pretty in 11th here. Affliction is in the same boat, but wasn’t quite that low in Heroic, coming in at No.12 here. The actual bottom 3 is a pretty sad sight for Druids, as we see both Balance and Feral here, only beaten out by Assassination in last place.

Overall Damage All Percentiles

We have some big changes in the direct Mythic to Mythic comparison here as well! Frost DK has now fully taken over, gaining a big three spots and walking all over Destro, Arcane, and Fury, who remain in the same order as last week. Windwalker is moving up, taking advantage of Fire’s two-spot drop to 9th. Affliction also grabs a few spots, moving directly from outside the top 10 into 8th.

Beast Mastery skyrockets here as well, going from the penultimate spot into 10th, 15 up! We see Feral fill in the bottom 3 slot the Hunter left behind, as the Evokers move past it. Augmentation’s buffs also serve it well, as it moves 8 spots up into 14th.

Boss Only Damage All Percentiles

The top 3 is the same as Heroic here, with Fire and Fury doing better right after that. BM and Aug are doing exactly the same as in the overall charts, while Affliction is doing quite a bit better.

Individual Bosses

Arms is moving up in the world on the Soul Hunters, where Windwalker also sees a lot of gains. The final three bosses is where we see Frost DK move up the most, with Feral doing very well on Fractillus.

Nexus-King Salhadaar

For Nexus-Kig and Dimensius, the Mythic log numbers are still VERY low. We’re talking 240 for the most played spec and ONE log for the lowest on the penultimate boss, and 38 for the highest, one lowest, with a whole lot of specs missing on Dimensius. So while we’ll still be taking a look at Mythic for this week, just for fun, we’ll probably be switching back to the Heroic stats next time around.

Heroic Overall Damage All Percentiles

Back to Heroic at the end, and we see Frost DK climbing here as well, moving two spots up and taking 3rd. Unholy is also rising, taking Marksmanship down a peg, with Fire and Shadow remaining very stable. Augmentation is actually the one to break through to the top 10 after the buffs, gaining 8 spots. Heroic players seem to have completely ignored Beast Mastery’s buffs, however, as the spec only gained 4 spots and moved out of dead last. That particular honor now belongs to Arms, with the Warrior and Outlaw joining Frost DJ down in the dumps.
