The twenty-third week of Mythic+ this season is over, and Nightstalker314 is taking a look at the weekly data provided by Raider.IO. The final week of both TWW S3 and Remix M+ did not end in a total collapse. Retail M+ dropped off by just 10.86%, and Remix metrics saw almost no decline. In both modes, the focus shifted even more towards the key levels for cosmetic rewards. So let’s look at the details.
Weekly Total Run Performance Compared To Other Seasons
The global drop-off of 10.86% is well within the range for regular weeks towards the tail-end of a season. Previous seasons’ final weeks would usually show much larger decrements of 30% or even higher. And the global value was once again skewed by the regional differences. In China, the trend away from Retail continued. With -15.43%, we saw a value similar to the one in the previous week. Meanwhile, the four regular regions only dropped by 7.99%.

With the continued shift toward Titan Reforged, the global share of Chinese metrics hit a new seasonal low of 36,68%. Similar to Remix, the three major regions moved closer to an even three-way split. It will be interesting to see if this pattern continues during the pre-patch, since activity in M+ is not winding down. Another reason for players, not just in China, to move away from Retail could be the upcoming launch of TBC on Classic anniversary servers.

Remix has concluded, and its final M+ week saw a drop of just 3.12%. This value might even bounce up into the positives, because RaiderIO’s data crawlers for Remix numbers do not reach the same level of accuracy as fast as with Retail data.

Total Runs Across All S3 Dungeons
The split across all dungeons shrank in the final week. The participation spread between the most and least popular dungeon decreased by 0.6 percentage points. Their order remained unchanged. The overall success rate jumped back up after a terrible previous week. An increase of 1.04 percentage points brought it to 87.63%. The affix combination was beneficial for all dungeons.

Eco-Dome (92.39%) finished with some distance ahead of Gambit (91.45%). The Voidbound affix can be a bit annoying during the boss encounters in the latter. Streets of Wonder (89.99%) also barely improved and saw the usual impact from a Tyrannical first week as the only 5-boss dungeon. Halls of Attonement (88.91%) rebounded a bit better than average.
Priory (86.22%) saw the largest benefit from an easy affix and Tyrannical first. Mich less punishing trash catapulted it ahead of the Dawnbreaker (85.89%) again. Floodgate (84.24%) saw a decent last week, and Ara-Kara (79.66%) did not manage to break 80% one last time, despite a major improvement.
Split Across All S3 Key Levels
68.81% of all keys were completed at key level 10 or higher. Level 10 was once more the dominant key with 23.45%. The lower keys did not see major shifts, besides a slight bump for level 2. A lot of players probably used their freshly converted Remix characters for a few quick gear upgrades. The largest shift in focus happened at key level 13, the preferred level to secure a 3,000 rating. While almost all key levels besides the top three saw fewer total runs, the absolute value for level 13 increased by 6.49%. In relative share, this key level increased by a whopping 19.15%. Key levels 21 to 23 finished with record numbers of weekly runs for the season. Almost half of all timed +23s this season were done in the final week alone.

With an easy affix, the overall success rate clearly improved for lower key levels. The drop from key level 6 to 7 with the introduction of Tyrannical or Fortified remains unresolved. And the reverse effect of the dominant +10 key level looking much easier than +9. Success rates at the top 4 key levels shot up since ambitious players would avoid depleted keys in the battle for the title during the final week. On the other hand, the key levels below +20 saw a major drop in their success rate, between 2.4 and 3.6 percentage points. Knowing these runs don’t bring you anywhere near the title range reduces motivation significantly.
Legion Remix Dungeon Split
The split across all dungeons barely moved during the final week. The awful Sanguine and Necrotic affix combination turned dungeons with narrow passages into a bad experience. It is still concerning that Seat of the Triumvirate left a rather bad taste in the mouths of many players. We can only hope the redesign for S1 of Midnight is received more favorably and doesn’t leave it dead last, as we saw with City of Threads in TWW S1.

Legion Remix Key Level Split
Players did complete a few keys close to key level 200 during the final week. But only 2 runs at key level 191 were timed. The terrible affix combination definitely did not help here. While key level 200 a few weeks ago looked like a strong close to the mode, the legitimacy of those runs remains questionable.

83.45% of all keys were completed at key level 20 and higher. As mentioned above, the focus during the final week was clearly on the cosmetic reward key levels between 20 and 50. This range represented almost 77% of all keys. All saw an increase in total runs and in their relative share within all completed runs. Key level 20 rose from 7.17% to a record share of 8.78%. Key level 30 jumped from 6.63% to 7.23%. Level 40 improved from 3.77% to 4.40%, and level 50 went from 2.58% to an impressive 3.23%. The definition of last-ditch effort.
Conclusion and Post-Season Forecast
Remix M+ can be seen as a great success. Easy and fast runs with seemingly no limit, and rewards that required dedication without exaggerated min-maxing. Retail metrics suffered under the focus on Remix, but did not crater completely. The season ended with solid basic activity and a record level of KSM and KSL finishes for this expansion. Over the next few weeks, we will be observing the performance in Retail M+ regarding the new overall class tuning. By now, the first +24s have been timed in the post-season. But requirements now seem to focus more on pure DPS and pull speed, and less on survival.
As of this writing, 120 hours after the US reset, hourly numbers for the main regions have increased massively for the EU and the US, with +69% and +62%. China is also on the upside, but only at +23%. We will look at the details in the next breakdown.
