TWW Season 2 Mythic+ DPS, Tank, Healer Logs, W13: Tuning

Starym's Avatar by Starym

While things look very stable in the rankings, there’s actually a lot of movement below the top spots, and especially in specific keys. The tuning saw Subtlety improve a lot, but it did have extra help in the form of a doubling of its intended 5% buff for the first few days of the reset. Pretty much all the buffed specs in the tuning moved up, so let’s take a look.

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

95th percentile DPS

We have to go pretty deep for the first positional change after the tuning pass. In terms of general movement, we do see Balance pull away a little, with Feral and the two Rogues esepcially catching up quite a bit to the top 3. Down in 8th we see the first sign of actual movement, as Marksmanship is having a good week, rising two spots, taking down Elemental. Arms moves up as well post-buff, three spots, getting between the two Shamans and besting Enhancement. Frost DK is also doing better, moving two up to just outside the top 10.

The specs that got buffed did move up, but not by much. Both Shadow and Subtlety gained two spots but are still very much in the bottom, especially the Priest, but it at least managed to get out of the bottom 3. Subtlety had a double buff at the start of the week for a few days as well. Speaking of the bottom 3, Survival’s buffs did nothing for it as it remains dead last. Same thing with Frost Mage, as it remains just outside the bottom 3, while Fury did gain a spot. The Mythic+ rankings tend to take a little longer to change, so we’ll see if they have better luck next week.

All Percentiles

Paladins are eating very well in the overall Mythic+ population, as the most populous spec by far gains another big spot towards the top, landing in 4th! Outlaw catches up to Assassination and moves past Enhancement. And it’s not the only one as Demonology is the story of the week here, gaining three spots and landing in 9th. Arms moves one up and it seems the Nerub-ar Palace 2-set trick that got nerfed affected Augmentation, as it loses two spots. Frost Mage moves out of the very bottom, but only two spots and still in the bottom 3, with Survival staying in place and BM dropping to last.

Specific Keys

Survival did manage to make it to the very top of +7s after the buffs, and Subtlety is doing a LOT better there as well, gaining a gigantic 16 spots in 9th. Despite dropping off overall, Enhancement took over the +10s, with Windwalker also improving quite a bit. Arcane and Outlaw run the +12s, and Subtlety did another giant leap into the top 5 there.

Tanks

Vengeance isn’t going anywhere, regardless of tuning (not that there was any for the tanks), but we do see some changes regardless. Both Guardian and Prot Warrior move past Blood, while the bottom two remain unchanged.

Healers

Preservation’s buffs didn’t do much as it remains at the very bottom, and the same can be said for Holy Paladins. Resto Shaman did get a buff, but it was to the less used Farseer, so it also remains in place. And so despite actual tuning here, we see absolutely no changes, as it customary for the healers.

Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers

Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+13-19) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.

Retribution keeps it’s very high No.3 spot here. Feral drops a spot as Assassination rises, moving past Marksmanship as well. Subtlety gains 5 spots down in 15th while Shadow only moves out of the very bottom, as Augmentation drops three to reclaim its dead last status.
