Among the many details we found out about the upcoming expansion, one of the most interesting is the start date for the Housing system!
December 2nd
Midnight’s Housing system will get its live server premiere at the start of December. It will be in an Early Access state, with not all features present, and will only be available to players who pre-ordered Midnight. We already had the details on what features will be available for the Early Access portion of the Housing launch, which were shared in a Gamespot interview during gamescom.
Players who with the Midnight expansion can begin setting up their new homes beginning December 2 with Early Housing Access. You’ll be able to purchase your first home, establish your Neighborhood, and begin designing your space with the use of your decor collection. Not all features will be available until the launch of Midnight.
For everything we know about the system, head on over to our Housing guide.
Early Access
The houses themselves and their decor will be available, obviously. However, the Neighbourhoods and their features will not be ready until Midnight’s actual launch (which we still don’t have a date for). So no interactions with other players’ homes, with the possible exception of a direct invite. There also won’t be any of the events and Renown track (detailed here).

The reasoning behind the later release is that players probably wouldn’t want to go and grab housing decor from old content in the first week of an expansion’s launch, causing a bit of conflict. This way, there will be plenty of time to get the goodies you want for your house, and then when the Neighborhoods and the expansion launch, you can focus on that.
Players Without a Pre-Order
If you didn’t pre-order Midnight, you will obviously not have access to Housing. That’s true for the pre-patch, and you will need to own the expansion when it launches to access it then. However, you will be able to collect all decor items from available content for if/when you eventually get Housing.

How much are you looking forward to Housing? Will you be pre-ordering Midnight for its Early Access?
