WoW Player Housing Is About to Kill the Decoration Grind

Player Housing continues to shape up as one of the most exciting long-term features in development. The latest updates from today’s State of Azeroth suggest things are about to get a lot more expressive—and a lot more convenient.

Showing Off Pets and Mounts in Your Home

One of the most requested features is finally on the table: the ability to display pets and mounts as part of your home. The Player Housing team are actively working on ways for players to showcase their collections inside their homes—whether that means a favourite mount stabled outside your house, or your pets sleeping in front of the fireplace.

Mass Selection and Copy/Paste Tools

Decorating is also getting a quality-of-life upgrade. The team confirmed they’re working on mass-select and copy/paste functionality for housing items. That means no more painstakingly moving objects one by one when you want to shift a sofa made of cushions.

Players will be able to duplicate setups, and experiment with layouts way more freely than before. Complex builds and symmetry are going to be a breeze!

Import/Export Codes: Multiple Designs, One Home

Perhaps the most intriguing update is the introduction of Import/Export codes for Player Housing layouts. In practical terms, this will allow players to save multiple home designs and swap between them.

If implemented the way many players are hoping, this feature could completely change the way housing is used—not as a single static space but a flexible canvas.

This also means that mean players will be able to share their designs with others in the community. Housing builds will be able to be passed around via codes similar to talent loadouts or UI imports.

The potential is hard to ignore—especially for players who love decorating but might not have the time (or confidence) to start from scratch.

A Promising Direction for Player Housing

We’ll be keeping a close eye on how these systems evolve, but one thing is clear: Player Housing is shaping up to be a feature you can truly make your own—and remake whenever the mood strikes.
