HoYoverse just ended the Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5 Special Program, and the update itself is full of story content, new and returning Agents, generous rewards, and a look back at Season 2 so far!

Version 2.5 “To Be Fuel for the Night”
During the stream, the new teaser trailer titled “To Be Fuel for the Night” was shared, setting the tone for Version 2.5’s story.
Even in a world full of imperfections, the message is clear: when small lights come together, they can still push back the darkness.
The chapter continues the Season 2 storyline that has been unfolding since the Waifei Peninsula arc. Expect danger, emotional moments, and some big decisions as the abyss draws closer!
Season 2 Retrospective – Journeying Through Waifei
The livestream also included a short Season 2 retrospective, looking back on the journey through Waifei so far.
From different ideals and old memories to the growing sense of danger ahead, the recap highlighted how much the story has escalated, especially the bond between Proxy and their allies.
It is a nice refresher if you have been following Season 2 closely, or a reminder of where things are heading if you have been taking it slow.
Version 2.5 Rewards and Freebies
Version 2.5 comes with a lot of login rewards and special events:

Agent Enhancements and Potential Vision System
Several older Agents are getting a boost in Version 2.5:
- Burnice, Soldier 11, and Grace can be instantly powered up via a one-click enhancement option
- Burnice, Soldier 11, Grace, Soldier 0 Anby, and Ellen are now compatible with the new Potential Vision enhancement system
On top of that, players can exchange for event-limited W-Engines and Bangboos from Version 1.3 and earlier through the Potential Vision store, making it easier to catch up on older content.
New Outfits Arriving in Version 2.5
Two new outfits were revealed during the stream:
- Jane – Nocturne of Light
- Available after the Version 2.5 update
- Sold with a 100% discount throughout Version 2.5 (so basically this one is free for everyone, even if you do not own the Agent)
- Ye Shunguang – Touch of Dawnlight
- Available in the store after the update
Version 2.5 Banners and Signal Searches
The new banners will start at the end of the year, and here are all the agents you will be able to pull for in the new year! As always, they all come with their Signature W-Engine as well:
- S-Rank Agent Ye Shunguang – She is the current Sword Keeper of the Qingming Sword, and also a Void Hunter
- She has a white-haired version of herself that has a totally different personality and vibe
- Can enter her Enlightened Mind state (white hair version) and activate her unique Ether Veil. During that state, she will deal Honed Edge DMG and inflict a special Vulnerability effect, and deal more DMG
- There are multiple ways to activate the Enlightened Mind state
- S-Rank Agent Zhao – She is part of the Krampus Compliance Authority
- Accumulates Frostbite when on the field, and when the gauge is full, she activates her Burst of Frost and Ether Veil to attack enemies and grant additional buffs to the whole squad
- S-Rank Rerun Agents:
New Events in Version 2.5
Several new events will roll out throughout the version:
- Sword Seeker Chronicles – Event related to the Qingming Sword story
- Available after the update
- Rewards include the new A-Rank W-Engine “Cauldron of Clarity“
- Additional W-Engine upgrade materials
- Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze – Form a three-person team and fight together! This is a co-op event
- Angels and Delusions of Muse – You have been waiting for them, and they are finally coming!
- Shadow Riptide Clash – HIA combat event, similar to the previous ones
- Wish Filing Station – If you ever wanted to throw wish bottles into the sea, now is your chance!
- Advanced Bounty: Area Patrol – Double Drive Disc and Agent upgrade materials
- Data Bounty: Combat Simulator – Double materials
