Dominion: New Open World Shooter StarCraft Game Announced!

BlizzCon opened strong, with a brand-new game in the StarCraft universe! It’s an open-world shooter coming from a new team at Blizzard. The Dominion’s marine’s are in focus, with the trailer focusing on one in particular, Holt. He doesn’t quite fare well in his first encounter with the Zerg, however. The trailer is a cinematic, with no in-game footage. This makes a lot of sense when we get to the end and find out the game is scheduled for 2030!

Some more details from the press kit:

The game is set 70 years after the end of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void! It will be a story-driven shooter. We’re still in the Koprulu sector! Players can also register on StarCraft.com for future updates.

Creative Director Dan Hay has worked at Blizzard for 4 years, and also did many games before that. Most relevant to this game, he worked on Fear 3 and FarCry 3-6! The rest of the devs are mostly Bčlzzard veterans, some from the Overwatch team.
