Diablo 2 Season 13 Feedback on Warlock and Sunder Charms

The Diablo II: Resurrected subreddit recently posted a large summary of community feedback on Season 13 and the Reign of the Warlock expansion. The overall reaction is positive so far, but a few topics keep coming up again and again within the discussion.

The main ones are Warlock balance, Sunder charm drop rates, and the Herald farming system.

Warlock Is Popular, But Balance Questions Remain

The Warlock class is one of the most talked-about additions in Season 13. Players describe the class as fun to play and point to multiple viable builds.

Leveling also feels much easier compared to a few older classes.

The class currently looks stronger than parts of the existing roster in endgame content. Classes often mentioned in comparison include Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, and certain Sorceress builds.

The discussion usually comes down to two directions: reduce Warlock power or bring other classes closer to it.

If you want to read the full discussion, you can check the Reddit thread below. We will also go over the most common points players keep bringing up.

Sunder Charm Drops Are The Biggest Frustration

The most common complaint in the Reddit thread is Sunder charm drop rates.

Commenters say they feel extremely rare and rely on multiple layers of RNG. That can make them difficult to obtain, especially for solo players.

A frequent suggestion is allowing Sunder charms to drop from all Herald tiers. However, players also pointed out that all Herald tiers already have a chance to drop them, which suggests the system may not be fully understood yet.

Herald Farming Does Not Fit Diablo 2’s Usual Loop

The Herald farming system also comes up quite often in the discussion.

The idea behind Herald encounters is generally liked, but the current structure basically requires long uninterrupted play sessions. That clashes with Diablo 2‘s typical gameplay loop, where farming often happens in short runs.

Common suggestions include:

  • more reliable spawn triggers
  • fewer RNG layers
  • shorter farming cycles

Stash Changes And Endgame Systems Get Strong Feedback

Fortunately, not all feedback focuses on problems. There are a lot of additions from the expansion that receive strong, positive reactions.

For example, the expanded stash system is one of the most appreciated changes. Players highlight rune and material tabs, clearer item organization, and additional shared stash space.

The new endgame direction also looks very good. Herald encounters, Terrorized zones, new bosses, and new item systems are seen as great additions, although tuning will likely continue during the season.

Overall, and even with some balance concerns, the general reaction to Season 13 and Reign of the Warlock is positive.

If Blizzard adjusts the areas players keep mentioning, the expansion could end up in a very strong spot. The real question now is how much of this feedback will turn into changes during the season and beyond.
