The Reign of the Warlock update has been live for a few days in Diablo 2: Resurrected, and with it came an overhaul to Terror Zones, but some changes went unnoticed.
Players now have more control over which Acts become terrorized. Using new consumables, you can designate an Act to enter Terror Mode, which will boost the difficulty of every zone in that Act while also increasing loot and reward potential.
In Hell difficulty, new enemies called Heralds of Terror stalk players, getting exponentially deadlier the longer they remain unchallenged. And conquering a terrorized Act boss can reward you with new statues. If you collect all five, you can put them in the Horadric Cube to face the fearsome Colossal Ancients.
Faster Terror Zone Rotations
The biggest practical change for players that went a bit unnoticed is the rotation schedule. Terror Zones now rotate every 30 minutes instead of every hour, which makes it easier to plan farming runs.
Here is the new rotation by Act:

A Change That a Lot of Players Appreciate
Shorter rotations mean more flexibility for farming and endgame routes. You do not have to wait a full hour to see a desired Terror Zone spawn. Combined with new bosses, statues, and the Colossal Ancients, the Reign of the Warlock update makes Terror Zones riskier but more rewarding than ever. So, if you are planning focused endgame runs, make sure to check the new rotation schedule and prepare for Heralds of Terror, or else you might find yourself outmatched in Hell difficulty!
