<p>Players were able to repeatedly leave and re-enter their party to exploit the secret Lesser Evils boss fight, allowing them to rejoin it over and over. This has now been patched, preventing anyone from using this method to repeatedly access the boss fight and get more rewards from it.</p>

Blizzard Rolls Out First 2026 Diablo 4 Boss Fight Fix!


<p>The expansion reveal trailers confirmed that <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-next-expansion-announcement/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred</a> will bring a ton of new content. Pre-ordering the expansion already gives <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/paladin/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">early access to the Paladin</a>, but there is also a second, mystery class that remains completely secret for now. </p>



<p>Players had all the holidays to go over the trailer, where a shadow of the second class appears performing a hand movement that suggests <strong>summoning something</strong>. It is not much, but it has been enough to keep speculation alive, especially over the past few weeks.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What the Shadow Still Suggests</h2>



<p>In the trailer, the mysterious class is not wielding a sword or shield like a knight, nor summoning undead like the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/necromancer/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Necromancer</a>. Instead, the hand movement looks ritualistic, as if calling something forth rather than commanding existing minions. That has led many players to believe the class could involve <strong>demonic or arcane summoning</strong>, rather than undead or beasts. This opens up a few possibilities:</p>



<ul>
<li><strong>Warlock-style magic</strong>, summoning demons or shadow creatures</li>



<li><strong>Witch Doctor vibes</strong>, with ritualistic or elemental magic</li>



<li>Some sort of <strong>Blood magic or death-themed caster</strong>, a darker, sorcery-heavy role</li>
</ul>



<p>It is clear from the teaser that Blizzard wants players to feel the difference between this class and the Paladin, Druid, or Necromancer. That makes sense, since a new expansion usually needs a class that brings new mechanics and playstyles. We already have a Paladin, so things like Blood Knight or Death Knight could also be possible, but at the same time, might be too similar to the actual Paladin.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New Clue &#8211; The Main Stat Pattern</h2>



<p>More recently, <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1q5bfqt/here_a_crazy_theory_about_the_new_class_well_se/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">fans have started looking</a> beyond trailers and into Diablo 4&#8217;s class stat structure, and this really does offer another hint. Currently, Diablo 4&#8217;s classes break down like this:</p>

<p>That leaves <strong>Willpower</strong> as the only main stat with just one dedicated class.</p>



<p>If Blizzard intends to keep things balanced, the mystery class being <strong>Willpower-based</strong> would make a lot of sense. And that lines up surprisingly well with theories around a <strong>warlock-like or shadow-magic class</strong>, something focused on channeling demonic power rather than brute force or precision.</p>



<p>Some players have even suggested an <strong>Oracle-type class</strong>, a completely new concept for Diablo, with similarities to Warlocks or even a Shadow Priest-style archetype from World of Warcraft.</p>



<p>A Willpower-focused class built around <strong>dark magic, rituals, or demonic summoning</strong> would fit neatly into the current roster without stepping on another class&#8217;s identity. It also helps explain why Blizzard has been so careful with its reveal. A new archetype is more exciting when it is introduced properly, rather than spoiled early.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Still Waiting on the Reveal</h2>



<p>Blizzard has not officially revealed anything else, so for now, all we can do is speculate based on the trailer. Judging by the shadow, the hand movements, and what we know about Diablo class design, the mystery class will likely focus on <strong>dark magic, summoning, or sinister sorcery</strong>, something that feels <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">totally new in Diablo 4</a>.</p>

Diablo 4’s Next Class May Focus On Dark Magic and Summoning


<p>If Diablo lore ever felt confusing or overwhelming to you, learning about <strong>the Lesser Evils</strong> makes for a good starting point. They sit right below the Prime Evils in power, but they are still <strong>responsible for most of the conflicts across Sanctuary.</strong></p>



<p>So, if you found yourself wondering &#8220;what is a Lesser Evil?&#8221;, below is a clear version of who they are and why they exist.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Anu, Tathamet, And The Birth Of Evil</h2>



<p>Everything starts with Anu, the first being in the Diablo universe. Anu is an entity that was created out of &#8216;nothing&#8217;, born from a void, and embodied all dualities: good and evil, light and darkness. After eons of time, Anu tried to remove all evil from itself, and that act resulted in the creation of another entity, the opposite of Anu: Tathamet, a massive seven-headed dragon that embodied chaos and hatred.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Origin Of The Lesser Evils</h3>



<p>When Anu and Tathamet eventually destroyed each other, their remains formed the High Heavens and the Burning Hells. Not only did Tathamet&#8217;s body &#8216;create&#8217; the Burning Hells, but from its seven severed heads, the three Prime Evils and four Lesser Evils were born. </p>

<p>The Lesser Evils do not rule Hell outright. Instead, <strong>each one embodies a specific aspect of evil</strong> and spreads that influence across Hell and Sanctuary.</p>



<p>Where the Prime Evils affect the big picture of the war against Sanctuary, the Lesser Evils carry out that influence through specific aspects of corruption.</p>



<p>You can think of them as generals of Hell.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Andariel, The Maiden Of Anguish</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/uber-andariel-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Andariel</a> embodies Anguish. She feeds on suffering, despair, and emotional pain, breaking her enemies by wearing them down mentally, not just physically.</p>



<p>Her presence often brings hopelessness and misery, which makes her influence especially dangerous for mortals on Sanctuary. <strong>Andariel does not just kill people; she makes them lose hope first.</strong></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Duriel, The Lord Of Pain</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/uber-duriel-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Duriel</a> embodies Pain, both physical and psychological. Where Andariel drains morale, Duriel overwhelms his enemies through raw brutality and overwhelming cruelty rather than subtle schemes.</p>



<p>When Hell needs something crushed or erased, Duriel steps in. His role often puts him on the front lines as <strong>an enforcer rather than a mastermind.</strong></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Belial, The Lord Of Lies</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/belial-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Belial</a> controls Lies, deception, and manipulation. Unlike the other Lesser Evils, he rarely relies on brute force and <strong>corrupts from within, preferring false promises and misinformation</strong> <strong>over direct confrontation.</strong></p>



<p>His methods turn allies into enemies and create chaos without open warfare, which makes him one of the most dangerous Lesser Evils despite his quieter approach.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Azmodan, The Lord Of Sin</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/azmodan-world-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Azmodan</a> embodies Sin, and he <strong>treats Hell like a military campaign.</strong> He values strategy, numbers, and total long-term domination.</p>



<p>He commands massive demon legions and <strong>believes sin itself gives Hell its strength.</strong> Every act of corruption in Sanctuary feeds into his vision of an endless, organized war.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Lesser Evils Return In Diablo 4</h2>



<p>Diablo 4 <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4s-season-11-is-all-about-the-return-of-the-lesser-evils/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">brings the Lesser Evils back into focus</a>, especially during <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the current Season</a> 11, which centers on their return to Sanctuary. As you grind your way through the forces of hell, you will face their influence directly through various seasonal content, which makes their roles feel more immediate than in previous updates.</p>



<p>This makes now a great time to brush up on their lore, regardless of whether you already know the basics or are jumping into Diablo lore for the first time. Blizzard has confirmed that the <strong>next major Diablo 4 expansion, launching in April 2026, </strong>will focus on Mephisto, one of the Prime Evils. Compared to the Lesser Evils, Prime Evils operate on a completely different level of power and manipulation.</p>



<p>For now, understanding Andariel, Duriel, Belial, and Azmodan definitely helps set the stage. Their return feels like a warning sign, showing how Hell prepares the ground before a Prime Evil steps in. When Mephisto takes center stage again, the stakes will feel much higher, especially if you know who has been pulling strings in the background, since <strong>the game&#8217;s lore has always been more about corruption and temptation instead of simple good versus evil.</strong></p>

Diablo Lore Bites: Who Are The Lesser Evils in Diablo 4?


<p>The <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/treasure-goblins-and-holiday-gifts-are-coming-back-to-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Goblin Event in Diablo 4</a> is officially almost over. With only two days left before it <strong>ends on January 6, 2026</strong>, this is the last chance to take advantage of the boosted goblin spawns and the unusually generous loot that comes with it.</p>



<p>Over the past couple of weeks, the event has been one of the most efficient ways to farm gold, materials, and dungeon rewards, especially through Treasure Breach Nightmare Dungeons. If you have been sitting on keys or telling yourself you will &#8220;<em>do it later</em>,&#8221; later is basically now.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Only Two Days Left</h2>



<p>During the event, goblins appear far more frequently than usual, and Treasure Breach dungeons in particular feel loaded compared to their normal version. That extra density adds up fast, especially if you are farming in groups or chaining dungeons back to back.</p>



<p>Once the event ends, goblins will not disappear entirely, but this level of efficiency will. If you are trying to stockpile resources or push upgrades before the season moves on, these final days are easily the best window to do it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Happens After the Event Ends</h2>



<p>A few <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1q33nft/will_mythic_prankstersbreach_still_be_available/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">players have been confused</a> about what actually goes away once the Goblin Event ends. You only need to remember that it is <strong>the event bonuses that end, but the rest of the base systems stay</strong>.</p>



<p>Both <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-mythic-prankster-nightmare-dungeon-affix/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Mythic Prankster</strong> and <strong>Treasure Breach</strong></a> dungeon keys were already part of the game before the Goblin Event started. They are not temporary features linked to this event at all, so they will not suddenly stop dropping.</p>



<p>After the event:</p>



<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/nightmare-dungeon-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nightmare Dungeon</a> keys can still roll Mythic Prankster</li>



<li>Treasure Breach affixes can still appear on keys</li>



<li>Treasure Breach dungeons will simply contain fewer goblins than they do right now</li>
</ul>



<p>So even if the loot will not be quite as wild, the content itself is not being removed.</p>



<p>If you have been going through your Mythic Prankster or Treasure Breach keys because you were worried they would become unusable, there is no need to rush out of fear. Saving keys for later or group runs will still be a valid option after the event ends.</p>



<p>The Goblin Event is one of the best Diablo 4 events. With just two days left, it is a good moment to squeeze out a few extra runs, clean out your stash of keys, and enjoy the chaos while it lasts.</p>



<p>After that, goblins go back to behaving normally&#8230; mostly.</p>

Diablo 4 Goblin Event Ends in 2 Days but Here Is What Stays!


<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/">Diablo 4 Season 11</a> is doing something that previous seasons struggled with, and that is keeping players around for longer.</p>



<p>It has now been roughly 3 weeks since launch, and <strong>Season 11 is still holding onto around 50-60% of its Steam player base</strong>, which is unusually strong retention for an ARPG. These numbers come from <a href="https://steamdb.info/app/2344520/charts/#1m" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">SteamDB</a> and only reflect <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2344520/Diablo_IV/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Steam</a> players, but even as a partial snapshot, the sentiment carries across all platforms. The actual number is likely much higher once Battle.net and console players are factored in.</p>

<p>But what exactly is different this time?</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Strong Retention for an ARPG Season</h2>



<p>For context, most ARPG seasons drop off much faster. Even very successful seasons in games like <a href="https://www.poe-vault.com/poe2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Path of Exile</a> usually struggle to stay near that amount by week three, unless the league mechanic is incredibly fun. Hitting that number this late into a season often signals that players are genuinely enjoying the loop, not just rushing through content.</p>



<p><strong>Season 11 also compares very well against earlier Diablo 4 seasons</strong>, which tended to fall off more quickly once the initial hype faded.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Season 11 Is Sticking</h2>



<p>A few changes clearly helped Season 11 perform better than expected:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Not Perfect, But a Step Forward</h2>



<p>As good as it is, Season 11 is not without criticism. Inventory clutter, stash space, and Pit rewards at very high tiers are still common complaints. Boss farming, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/why-players-farm-normal-azmodan-diablo-4/">especially Azmodan</a>, can also feel repetitive.</p>



<p>Nevertheless, the overall sentiment is noticeably more positive than in previous seasons. A lot of players see this as a great turning point, especially with the <strong>Lord of Hatred</strong> expansion ahead.</p>

Diablo 4 Season 11 Is Holding Onto Players Longer Than Expected


<p>It turns out <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/dark-citadel-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4&#8217;s Dark Citadel</a> is currently bugged and partially broken, and it took weeks after the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">last season launch</a> for anyone to really notice.</p>



<p>Several <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1q2bwcy/the_dark_citadel_is_bugged_and_broken/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">posts on Reddit and forums</a> highlight a lot of major issues affecting the activity, including missing loot drops and broken cosmetic rewards, making the mode effectively pointless for players still trying to run it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Is Broken in the Dark Citadel?</h2>



<p>According to multiple player reports, the following issues are currently happening:</p>

<li><strong>No loot drops at all</strong> in Dominion of Zagraal</li>



<li><strong>Faeroch, the Incinerator</strong> in Labyrinth of Souls, also drops nothing</li>



<li>Completing Dark Citadel Tier 4 for the first time does <strong>not award the Khazra cosmetics</strong></li>



<li>Some players report inconsistent behavior, with rewards working for a few and not for others</li>

<p>A lot of players wanted to farm the Dark Citadel this season with <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/paladin/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Paladin</a> to finally get the exclusive cosmetics, but their holiday plans got ruined by the bugged content. </p>

<p>According to multiple other reports from players as well, it seems the Dark Citadel has been broken for over two weeks, but no one really noticed.</p>



<p>This shows how little people play through the Dark Citadel, since you have the first post about it weeks into the season. Several players even admitted they <strong>forgot the Dark Citadel even existed</strong>, only remembering it briefly when the quest pops up to unlock it, before abandoning it again until the next season.</p>



<p>Others only realized something was wrong because it was their first time running the content, making it impossible to tell if the missing rewards were a bug or just normal.</p>



<p>The timing also made things worse. With the Paladin class now available, some players finally convinced friends to jump back into Diablo 4 and try seasonal content together. For those groups, the Dark Citadel bugs were a pretty rough introduction, especially for players specifically chasing Citadel-exclusive transmogs that do not drop elsewhere.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Mechanics Are Fun but the Loot Is Not</h2>



<p>A lot of players agree that the mode is fun to play through a few times, but the rewards were never great to begin with. This made it hard to keep coming back to it. The cosmetics are pretty much the only reason you run it the first time, and once you have them, everyone mostly ignores the Dark Citadel.</p>



<p>This makes the current situation worse, because <strong>the one thing people still care about is not dropping</strong> currently.</p>

<p>It is most likely like a DIY endgame content map, and honestly, it sounds way more fun than just spamming the same thing over and over again.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Skills, Builds, and Messing Around With Classes</h2>

And since Paladin is tied to the upcoming expansion&#8217;s pre-orders, it is good to know there are still plenty of strong endgame options if you do not own the expansion.</p>

It is fast, flashy, and completely absurd once it gets going. The gameplay can be explained as &#8220;<em>run around, press buttons, everything dies</em>,&#8221; and that honestly sounds like the best Diablo energy.</p>



<p>It also seems to scale extremely well into late Pit tiers, with some players comfortably <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/the-pit-of-the-artificers-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">clearing Pit 100</a> even if they are barely paying attention. Bonus points for style with lightning everywhere, never gets old.</p>

It is fast, strong, and relatively easy to gear compared to some other top builds. The main downside might be your fingers.</p>



<p>Evade-heavy gameplay can be rough on the hands, and this is why many players recommend a controller for that one. If you are fine with that, it remains one of the strongest and fastest non-Paladin options available.</p>

<p>There are some unique requirements here, but most players agree that Rogue rewards investment and feels great once the pieces come together.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Barbarians and Druids Are Still Here</h2>

It may not be the fastest build in the game, but smashing entire screens never really stops being fun.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Necromancer for the Chill Grinders</h2>



<p>If you value comfort over speed, <strong><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/golem-summoner-necromancer-build/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Minion or Golem Necro</a></strong> still has a place. Sort of automatic builds with minions that let you farm efficiently without stressing too much about mechanics. It is not the fastest or strongest option compared to Sorcerer or Spiritborn, but for relaxed endgame farming, it does the job.</p>

Right now, a lot of the Diablo 4 community agrees that it feels way too good to just be a &#8220;one and done&#8221; season-only system.</p>

Would You Want Sanctification to Stay in Diablo 4?


<p>When <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4</a> launched, the PvP zones were supposed to offer something different. It was presented as dangerous areas where players could fight each other for rewards. Almost three years later, those zones are still there, but many <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1ptlpu8/the_pvp_zones_confuse_me_and_i_wonder_if_anyone/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">players are questioning</a> what purpose they actually serve.</p>



<p>Not because PvP is difficult, but because it barely feels like PvP at all.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PvP You Can &#8220;Opt Out&#8221; Of… Mostly</h2>



<p>On paper, Diablo 4&#8217;s PvP zones are optional. Players who do not want to fight others can stay unmarked and focus on farming enemies, bosses, and events.</p>



<p>In practice, it is more confusing than that.</p>



<p>Unmarked players cannot attack each other, but a single Bloodmarked player can attack everyone, marked or not. That means you can walk into a PvP zone with no intention of fighting, only to get instantly deleted by someone who decided to mark themselves.</p>



<p>For many players, the system is just confusing. Are these zones supposed to be competitive battlegrounds, or just risky farming areas where someone can randomly come in and kill you?</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Real Gameplay</h2>



<p>Another issue is how PvP fights actually plays out. Even high-level characters with massive toughness report getting one-shot with no time to react. Dodging, positioning, and skills often do not matter since fights can be over in a single hit. That is not really surprising. Diablo 4 is built around extreme damage scaling. Characters are designed to melt bosses and clear endgame content, not trade blows with other players.</p>



<p>Even with heavy PvP damage reduction, the numbers are still too high. Balancing this properly would likely require separate PvP damage formulas or stat scaling, something the game does not currently support.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Players Are Not Fighting, They Are Farming</h2>



<p>Despite all that, PvP zones are not empty. They are just not popular for PvP. Many players visit these areas because they are efficient for a few other things.</p>

<p>When players actively try to make PvP zones as non-PvP as possible, it says a lot about how the system currently feels.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Rewards Do Not Carry PvP on Their Own</h2>

<p>With better rewards and materials available elsewhere, PvP zones do not feel essential once those cosmetics are unlocked.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">So What Could Make Diablo 4 PvP Actually Fun?</h2>



<p>That is where things get interesting. Many players do not hate the idea of PvP in Diablo 4. They just do not feel the game commits to it. Based on ongoing discussions, a few changes keep coming up again and again.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Clearer PvP Rules</h3>



<p>First, the Bloodmark system needs to be easier to understand. If PvP is opt-in, it should be fully opt-in. Clear boundaries would help players know when they are entering danger, and when they are not.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Separate PvP Balance</h3>



<p>Diablo 4&#8217;s damage numbers work great in PvE, but they completely fall apart in PvP. Separate damage scaling or PvP-specific modifiers could make fights last long enough for actual gameplay to happen, instead of instant deaths.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Structured PvP Modes</h3>



<p>Open-world PvP works best when it is supported by structure. Players often mention ideas like:</p>

<p>Cosmetics are nice, but they are not enough on their own. If Blizzard wants PvP to work, it needs progression, repeatable rewards, and reasons to come back season after season.</p>



<p>And actual attractive rewards, like the shop cosmetics, and not bland like the rest of the basic gear you drop.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A System Waiting for Direction</h2>



<p>Right now, Diablo 4&#8217;s PvP zones feel like a system without a clear goal. They are efficient for farming, occasionally chaotic, and rarely competitive. With the right changes, they could become something more, but that would require Blizzard to decide what PvP in Diablo 4 is truly meant to be.</p>



<p>Until then, most players will keep doing what they already do, and that is go in, farm fast, and hope no one decides to Bloodmark nearby.</p>
