New regional bundles for Diablo 4’s China release have surfaced online, and they include something players have never seen before: paid 20% boosts to XP, Gold, and Murmuring Obols. Naturally, this now has the community wondering how far Blizzard plans to take regional differences in the future.
Images shared through Chinese platforms (which were then posted on Reddit) show several launch offers that bundle Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred, dozens of cosmetics, and a 90-day stat boost that directly improves progression and
Murmuring Obols gain. Since Obols can be used for targeted gear pulls, the boost does provide real in-game power in early progression.
Massive Cosmetic Bundles at a Fraction of Western Pricing
The China launch also includes bundles that include:
- All cosmetic rewards from Battle Pass Seasons 1–10
- 30 top-selling shop cosmetics
- Ultimate Edition cosmetics
- A “Mystery Cosmetic Reward”
- Diablo 3 + Reaper of Souls
- Diablo 2: Resurrected
When compared to the shop of Diablo as we know it from the Western market, this includes thousands of dollars worth of cosmetics bundled into packages priced around $60 to $125.
For Chinese players, this is part of a major relaunch and an incentive to return to official servers. For every other player, it creates a very noticeable regional gap in value.

Pay-for-Power Concerns Return
What is getting the most attention regarding this topic is the 90-day 20% XP / Gold / Obol boost included in these bundles. Blizzard previously stated publicly that Diablo 4 would never sell power. The new Chinese bonuses do not directly increase damage, but they speed up character progression and improve targeted gear farming.
Within the Diablo 4 community, players are also discussing how this might influence competitive environments. The Tower leaderboards are delayed globally until early next year, but community-created leaderboards (such as helltides.com) are still active. If Chinese accounts gain boosted progression, cross-region comparisons will be very messy until Blizzard separates regions more clearly.
A Very Different Launch for the Chinese Market
It is important to note that this rollout is region-specific. China is receiving its own relaunch on December 12, and these bundles appear to be specifically created to:
- Re-establish the game in the region
- Offer massive value to returning players
- Match local pricing expectations
The global version of Diablo 4 has not announced any equivalent bundles or boosts.
Nevertheless, players are a bit worried about all this, which means the community will keep an eye on things. When a region receives paid advantages, even indirectly, it always raises the question: Is this a one-time exception, or a test for future global monetization?
For now, Blizzard has not commented publicly on the Chinese bundle structure for global audiences.
