Diablo 4 Free Trial and Big Sale


<p>Blizzard recently responded to <a href="https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/game-crashes-on-first-mob-pull-in-pit/203363/353">player concerns</a> over persistent Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issues in Diablo IV.</p>



<p>After a detailed player analysis suggested these crashes might stem from game code issues, Pezradar confirmed that Blizzard is rolling out updates to address stability as individual fixes are completed.</p>



<p>He acknowledged other lingering bugs, assuring players that more client patches are underway, with update 2.0.4b in development to tackle additional issues.</p>

<p>The updates being rolled out are hitting on specific individual items but not all of them. We choose to roll out updates as fixes come in. We do have some other lingering stability bugs and so we do expect additional client patches. I know 2.0.4b is currently in the works and will have some details on that soon.</p>

Blizzard to Address Ongoing BSOD Issues with Client-Side Patch


<p>It seems patch 2.0.4 from a few days ago has been causing a lot of grief for console co-op players. </p>



<p>Since Tuesday&#8217;s patch, many players have been reporting being completely unable to play. As soon as the second local player joins the game, it crashes. As you&#8217;d expect, players tried everything to fix the issue, including re-installing the game, but nothing worked. </p>

<p>There are many, many more threads like these over the past few days, so it seems the problem is affecting pretty much all local co-op players. </p>



<p>This only adds to the already existing issues for local co-op, some of which have been in place for almost 2 seasons now! The Infernal Hordes bug has been around since the start of Season 5. Meanwhile, the expansion raid, Dark Citadel, is not actually bugged, but simply does not support the mode. Players need to split up for the raid, which is not possible in co-op the mode since both players need to be on the same screen. </p>

New Diablo 4 Season 6 Stability Patch 2.0.4a: October 30th


<p>The mid-season update is getting closer and one topic is on everyone&#8217;s minds: what&#8217;s going to happen with class balance around the Spiritborn&#8217;s power?</p>



<p>It&#8217;s more and more looking like there won&#8217;t be any significant Spiritborn nerfs. But with the class being so much stronger than the rest, something has to be done. The question was posed by <a href="https://x.com/CooperAdams_">Cooper Adams</a> on X, and Global Director of Community Adam Fletcher responded!</p>

<p><br>While we assumed there would be a campfire for the big patch, and now it&#8217;s looking like it will discuss some buffs coming to the other classes! Nothing is for certain as the tweet was pretty vague, but it seems likely. The extreme outlier build(s) for Spiritborn might get nerfed down to non-3 minute Pit 150 clear standards. However, it&#8217;s very unlikely the class as a whole grabs a giant nerf. And so the only outcome seems big buffs for the rest! </p>



<p>We&#8217;ll have to wait and see, but not too much longer. Season 6 has been live for almost a month, so the mid-season update should be along within the next few weeks. </p>


Mid-Season 6 Update Campfire Coming, Class Balance Will be Discussed


<p>In Patch 2.0.4, players venturing into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/kurast-undercity-guide/">Kurast Undercity</a> are in for a rewarding surprise! The exclusive Portal Prankster, known for its bonus loot chests, now aligns with players&#8217; active Bargains, allowing for even better loot control!</p>



<p>Players who take down the Portal Prankster, a special type of goblin unique to Kurast Undercity, can now enjoy improved loot control, as this new patch lets them influence the bonus chest reward with their active Bargain!</p>

Diablo IV Patch 2.0.4: Huge Loot Change for Portal Prankster Runs!


<p>We have some more extreme dedication and a whole lot more maxing out of game systems today! </p>



<p><a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Phandrel/">Phandrel</a> has been doing a LOT of pit runs on their Spiritborn. It all started with a relatively normal move to max out all the Glyphs needed for the four builds they were playing. After getting those 12 to level 100, well, as <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Phandrel/">Phandrel</a> puts it &#8220;it just snowballed from there&#8221;. </p>



<p>The end result is pretty impressive, with all 22 Glyphs maxed out! </p>

<p>With Spiritborn running such high tier Pits it&#8217;s definitely much easier for them to get so many Glyphs up so high. And considering <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Phandrel/">Phandrel</a> only managed to get to Paragon level 269 (which <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/level-284-is-the-midpoint-diablo-4-paragon-experience-required-chart/">isn&#8217;t even the midpoint to 300</a>) after doing all that, well, it seems there&#8217;s a lot more Spiritborn out there that have all their Glyphs maxed out if they&#8217;re doing the Pit! </p>


Player Maxes Out All Glyphs: Level 100 For Each and Every One


<p>It seems Blizzard have been holding out on us with the Halloween event! Not mentioned in either the event announcement post nor the patch notes, it seems we&#8217;re getting a big experience buff to go along with it! </p>



<p>Mother&#8217;s Blessing is back, as it seems it may always be linked to all the holiday events! We&#8217;re getting a 35% experience and 50% gold gains boost during the Halloween event. There&#8217;s plenty more to check out during the event, from free cosmetics just from logging in to some nasty surprises at shrines, including a potential Butcher encounter! <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/haunting-rewards-await-dive-into-spooky-sanctuary-events-and-unveil-exclusive-cosmetics/">Read all about it here</a>. </p>

<p>It seems the new patch is causing a bit of trouble, specifically in the Pit! Many players have been reporting an immediate game crash when engaging even the very first monster in the Pit. Blizzard have responded that they are looking into the situation. </p>

<p>Accessibility is central to the Diablo IV experience, and with the new <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/vessel-of-hatred-overview/">Vessel of Hatred expansion</a> launched on October 8, Blizzard continues to make Sanctuary more navigable for all players. The team has worked closely with the community to design features that enable visually impaired players to navigate the perilous jungles of Nahantu!</p>



<p>From auto-pins to audio navigation assistance to a customizable on-screen compass, these tools are crafted to help players immerse themselves in Sanctuary with greater ease and confidence.</p>



<p>Lead Accessibility Designer Drew McCrory emphasizes that while these features were designed for the visually impaired, they enhance the experience for new and veteran players alike. The commitment to inclusive design ensures that Diablo IV&#8217;s treacherous world becomes accessible to even more players.</p>

<p>Accessibility is one of our top priorities in creating Diablo IV. We’ve integrated it into our development process from the very beginning and have worked with the disability community to discuss, iterate, and test features. With a more supportive and customizable gaming experience, these considerations have helped our games reach a legion of new players.</p>
<p>Diablo IV opened an infernal new chapter on October 8 with <b>Vessel of Hatred</b>. In bringing this adventure to life, our team developed new accessibility features designed to support players who have visual disabilities as they traverse the new region of Nahantu. With these updates, players will be better able to find—and fight—their way through the perilous jungle.</p>
<p>The features added to Diablo IV with Vessel of Hatred’s launch ensure that even more players can navigate the grim world of Sanctuary. We’ve rolled out:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Auto-Pin:</b> A new feature that automatically drops a map pin on the destination of your selected quest or task from your in-game Journal. When a pin is dropped, your mini-map shows a route to follow to get to the chosen destination. A dropped pin becomes the default when selecting quests, and further enables additional navigation features.</li>

<li><b>Audio Navigation Assistance:</b> With this feature enabled, the player receives spatial audio pings that direct the player towards their placed pin on the overworld map. This feature, in conjunction with auto-pin navigation, allows players to navigate quest content while tracking their destination through audio navigation. We recommend using headphones for best results of the immersive sound. Players can adjust both the volume and the interval of the ping to find a level that meets their needs.</li>
<li><b>Compass:</b> The compass feature enables an on-screen HUD element that circles around the player and points towards their placed in-world pin. In combination with auto-pin, this provides even more guidance for the player. The color of the arrow can be changed to match their needs and ensure it is clearly visible while slaughtering the denizens of hell.</li>

<p>“As developers, we want as many players as possible coming into the game,” says Drew McCrory, lead accessibility designer for Diablo IV. “While we designed this set of features specifically with the blind and low vision community in mind, we’ve found that each release proves the power of accessibility to bring our games to more players. We’re serving people who may be experiencing disabilities alongside new players who might use these features as they learn to navigate the world of Sanctuary.”</p>
<p>Direct feedback from the disability community was essential to shaping these features and outfitting Vessel of Hatred with 3D spatial sound. From the Public Test Realm (PTR), our developers received input on the audio navigation, which led to add three unique audio pings and varying the patterns of the sound to provide multiple pieces of information through audio.</p>
