Could Lords of the Fallen Be a Diablo 4 Crossover?

The Diablo 4 and Doom crossover is still ongoing in Season 12, but now it seems that a small, new interaction on social media has already had people talking about what could come next.

Beneath a video post on X about the official Doom collab, one fan suggested a Lords of the Fallen collaboration, and Ryan Hill (Creative Strategist on Lords of the Fallen) simply replied: “DMs are open.

Not a confirmation, not really a tease either. But enough to get the conversation going.

Why Lord of the Fallen Would Be a Great Next Collab

Lords of the Fallen is not a random pick. Both games are filled with dark fantasy, demonic enemies, and oppressive worlds. The tone fits almost perfectly, which is more than you can say for some crossovers you see in other games.

The medieval horror aesthetic would also work well with Diablo, which makes it easy to imagine themed armor sets, enemies, or even a dungeon or two. Even if nothing is confirmed, this one at least feels like it belongs.

Players Want More Than Just Cosmetics

As cool as it would be, though, the larger conversation about what a next collab could look like would not only be the theme or crossover itself, but also how it gets handled.

The Doom crossover has been decent, but a lot of players found it underwhelming. Not because of the theme, but because there was not much to actually do with it. Most of it came down to paid bundles and a reliquary to fill.

What players are asking for is something closer to an actual event, like:

  • a short questline
  • some map activities
  • maybe even a themed dungeon with a specific boss
  • earnable gear with class-specific effects

There are a lot of ideas floating around, and it is fair to wonder why Blizzard has not pulled from them yet.

Too Early to Call, But Worth Watching

Of course, the “DMs are open” reply is just a reply. It does not mean anything is in development, and it could easily go nowhere. We also have no idea if Blizzard actually followed up with Ryan Hill or not. But if putting it in the spotlight helps move things along, well, here we are. It seems like a pretty safe bet to say that, at least thematically, a Diablo x Lords of the Fallen collab could be a lot of fun!

Either way, it is clear that players want more crossovers, and they want them to feel like real content.
