Story & Setting Section

The expansion’s story will be centered on Mephisto, pushing players into a new zone and into new dangers. Blizzard highlighted the Lord of Hatred as the new threat rising in Sanctuary.

The tone seems much darker than Vessel of Hatred, leaning heavily into divine conflicts, hell, and more similar themes.

Blizzard confirmed the Paladin is finally added to the game, and it is playable tonight! For more details on the new class, you can check out our overview here!

Blizzard confirmed that the expansion will release on April 28, 2026, with pre-orders open now. Players who pre-order will gain access to the new class tonight!
