Last season, Diablo 4 introduced the Crafted item tag, which limited players to equipping just one Mythic Unique marked as Crafted. This restriction accompanied a new Horadric Cube recipe that allowed players to turn an existing item into a random Mythic Unique for the same equipment slot.
However, the restriction also applied to Mythics crafted at the Blacksmith and Jeweler. This proved frustrating for the community, and Season 15 brought some welcome changes to the system.
First, the Horadric Cube recipe now actually upgrades the item you put in. Instead of producing a random Mythic, it converts your chosen item into a Mythic Unique while preserving its stats, affixes, and existing modifiers. Meanwhile, Mythics crafted at the Blacksmith and Jeweler no longer receive the Crafted tag.
The Cube restriction remains, but players recently discovered a way around it through the Recycle Uniques recipe.
Upgrading an item into a Mythic costs five Resplendent Sparks and marks it as Crafted. But if you repeat this process with two additional copies of the same item, you can then put all three Mythics into the Cube’s Recycle Uniques 3:1 recipe. This combines three identical Uniques into a fresh copy of the same item, retaining its Mythic quality.
The resulting item loses the Crafted tag, allowing players to equip it alongside another crafted Mythic.
The biggest obstacle, however, is the sheer cost. Producing just one Mythic without the tag this way requires 15 Resplendent Sparks. To do this for all 12 of your items in your inventory, that would climb to a staggering 180 Sparks—an enormous investment, especially this early in the season.
There is another catch, too: recycling rerolls the item’s stats, and the result has no guaranteed Greater Affixes. You can secure the Mythic you want without the equipment restriction, but its rolls could still leave plenty to be desired.
This workaround gives players more control over their Mythics, but its steep cost puts it out of reach for most players, and is not a shortcut to gearing up.
