Some of the Best Season 12 PTR Changes Are Easy to Miss

Blizzard’s 2.6.0 PTR is not only testing big seasonal systems. It will also include quite a few smaller changes that could noticeably improve moment-to-moment gameplay in Diablo 4.

One of the most practical updates is about traversal. Movement speed now directly affects how fast your character completes traversal actions. If you are mounted and can jump a gap, mount speed is included as well. On top of that, using a traversal now resets your mount cooldown, which should make world navigation feel much better.

Another welcome change is the removal of the separate potion cooldown in the Fields of Hatred. Potions now behave consistently across the game, cutting down on one of the more awkward PvP differences.

Better Visual Clarity and Customization

Blizzard is also making it easier to read your gear at a glance. Masterworked Greater Affixes now have their own icon, which will make it much easier to see valuable items instantly in your inventory.

On the cosmetic side, a new Hide Weapon option has been added to the Wardrobe. Players can now conceal sheathed weapons for a cleaner look, something transmog fans have been asking for since launch.

Difficulty and Technical Updates

Some monster affixes are being pushed further into higher difficulties. Legendary Monster affixes now only appear in Expert and above, while Unique Monster affixes are locked to Penitent difficulty and higher. This should create a clearer progression curve as players climb.

If you are a PC player, you can also expect improved image quality thanks to updated DLSS Super Resolution presets that support DLSS 4.5 features where available.

None of these changes headline the PTR, but together they show Blizzard continuing to refine the overall experience ahead of Season 12.
