Barbarian did not go unnoticed for the upcoming Season 11 of Diablo 4! Blizzard pushed out some changes and adjustments for Barbarians as well, including a few small buffs across the board, some Fury reversions from PTR, and a bunch of node and skill reworks that make brawling builds feel punchier and more consistent. Below are the important changes you need to know!
General Balance & Stats
- Strength scaling increased: Damage per 10 Strength from 1.0% → 1.1%.
This is a universal damage bonus! Every point of Strength is slightly more valuable now, and that will help all Barbarian builds!
Skills & Core Changes
Kick: Hitbox width doubled; damage later increased 60% → 100%.
Power Kick: PTR changes reverted
Mighty Kick: Collide damage increased 54% → 100%.
Leap: Attack speed scaling adjusted and now scales with Attack Speed.
Upheaval: Can be canceled a bit earlier for smoother rotations.
Call of the Ancients: Duration 6 → 10 seconds (longer uptime for ancients).
Enhanced Hammer of the Ancients: Now increases max Fury up to 100; Fury per enemy hit increased 3% → 10% (up to 10 stacks).
Enhanced Ground Stomp: Now pulls enemies in (instead of the old stun duration bonus).
A lot of the core skill changes are about making inputs feel smoother and Fury more reliable, and at the same time giving some skills a stronger payoff.
Paragon & Glyph Buffs
- Hemorrhage / Blood Rage / Carnage / Decimator / Flawless Technique / Weapons Master: Several Legendary node damage bonuses buffed (example: Hemorrhage now 60% up from 45%).
Undaunted: Fortify max damage reduction from 10% → 15%.
Dominate: Overpower timer reduced 12s → 6s.- Weapons Master node: Swapping weapons now restores 12 Fury (previously a percent-based restore).
These are straight performance buffs to core paragon nodes and glyphs, so expect higher sustained DPS and more forgiving resource loops.
Tempering & Affix Changes
- Berserking Finesse: Removed the “Damage while War Cry is Active” affix.
- Arsenal Finesse: Removed (no longer available).
- Weapon Attunement: Several resource-generation affixes for weapon types removed.
With all the changes made to Tempering in general for Season 11, a few temper affixes were removed for all classes, including for Barbarian.
Passives & Defenses
Iron Skin (rework): Now increases Maximum Life by 30% and grants a barrier absorbing 80% of missing Life for 5s (previously 50% of missing Life).
Counteroffensive: Now grants 4% increased damage while Fortified (simpler trigger).
Defensive Stance: While Fortified you now gain 3% Damage Reduction (healing removed).
Irrepressible /
Thick Skin: Fortify amounts significantly reduced (various rebalances).
Barbarian’s defensive toolkit is being cleaned and consolidated, with fewer hybrid effects, more predictable Damage Reduction and Fortify numbers.
Legendary Aspects & Quality-of-Life
Veteran Brawler’s Aspect: Now triggers from Brawling Skills (broader trigger) and lasts 5s.
Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind: Whirlwind crit bonuses now persist for 5s after channel ends.

Aspect of Tempering Blows: Fortify granted now scaled as % Max Life rather than fixed numbers, more consistent in higher item power.- Aspect rank increases: Several Aspects increased to 21 ranks (more room for power scaling).
These changes make both short burst and whirlwind builds more consistent and less gear-dependent.
Item Changes & New Unique
Barbarian also receives one new Unique items, the Chainscourge Mail (Unique Pants). This item will only drop from Lord Zir.
- Affixes: +51-65 All Stats, +424-457 Max Life, 8.1-8.8% CDR, +2-3 to Brawling Skills
- Unique Power: Casting a damaging Brawling Skill disables it. When all Brawling Skills on your bar are disabled, they all re-enable with refreshed cooldowns, and your Brawling Skills deal 50-100% increased damage per disabled Skill.
They also made one change since PTR to this item! The shorter cooldown for the last Brawling skill used before re-enabling all of them, now scales based on attack speed.
Other items:
Fields of Crimson: Blood Pool bonus damage now applies to the whole party (no longer only the caster).- Several weapon and item affixes moved from odd defensive rolls to cleaner stats (this was modified on all the classes).
The adjustments made on old items allow the Barbarian to boost the whole party better, and with the removal of the useless defensive stats on certain items, you can now roll more useful affixes on your gear and get stronger faster!
Expertise & Weapon/Skill Scaling
- Weapon Expertise: Rank 10 Weapon Expertise bonus now also applies in the Weapon Technique slot.
Iron Maelstrom: Two-handed and dual-wield damage numbers roughly doubled (big buff for heavy weapon users).
Enhanced Bash /
Rallying Cry / Fortify changes: Fortify numbers adjusted (mostly reduced) to normalize defensive power across builds.
These changes overall give weapon and technique slots more synergy and improve the two-handed/dual-wield damage.

Overall, Barbarians in Season 11 get a mix of sensible quality-of-life fixes, clearer Fury mechanics, stronger skill numbers (especially for kicks and two-handed swings), and a fun new Unique to change brawling playstyles. It is not a full rework, but it is a solid change that should make the class punchier and more consistent at all levels.

Enhanced Ground Stomp

- Now: Each time a Brawling Skill deals direct damage to an enemy, your Charge, Leap, or Kick deals 4-10%[x] increased damage for 5 seconds, up to 20-50%[x].
Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind
- Previous: Whirlwind’s Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage are increased by 6-10%[x] for each second it is channeled, up to 28-50%[x].
- Now: Whirlwind’s Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage are increased by 6-10%[x] for each second it is channeled, up to 28-50%[x]. This bonus persists for 5 seconds after Whirlwind ends.
Aspect of Numbing Wrath
- Previous: Each point of Fury generated while at Maximum Fury grants 4-28 Fortify.
- Now: Every 100 Fury generated while at Maximum Fury grants 2-3% Max Life Fortify.
Steadfast Berserker’s Aspect
- Previous: Gain 147-671 Fortify whenever you deal direct damage while Berserking.
- Now: Gain .1-.3% Max Life Fortify whenever you deal direct damage while Berserking.
Aspect of Tempering Blows
- Previous: After swapping weapons 5 times, gain 98-622 Fortify.
- Now: After swapping weapons 5 times, gain 2-3% Max Life Fortify.
