More Control with the New Tempering System
Season of Divine Intervention continues Blizzard’s push to make item upgrades feel more direct and less random.
- Tempering now lets you add the affixes you want instead of rolling until you get lucky
- Tempering Charges can be refreshed at any time (with Scrolls of Restoration), so you can adjust or fix items without losing progress
Overall, the system makes early upgrades feel much better and late-game fine-tuning a lot less painful. You actually get to work toward the build you want instead of gambling for perfect drops.
Masterworking Gives Items Clearer Power Growth
Masterworking is also better and more important this season. Upgrading an item’s Quality boosts:
- Affix strength
- Weapon damage
- Armor or Resistances on defensive pieces
It rewards sticking with a good item and improving it over time instead of rushing to replace it with the next random drop.
Sanctification Takes Items Above the Usual Limits
Sanctification is the new high-end upgrade layer for players who truly wish to push their build to the max. Once you sanctify an item, it gets access to stronger upgrade tiers that go beyond normal stat limits. It is basically the final step for players who enjoy pushing endgame as far as possible.
