As Season 12 approaches, Blizzard keeps working on the Tower in Diablo 4. Even if the mode is still in beta, they have already adjusted and added a ton of content to it for the upcoming season! Thanks to all the player feedback, the new season introduces a few gameplay improvements, new enemies, and leaderboard quality-of-life changes, with a lot more to come.
These updates should make the mode more engaging for players chasing high ranks and faster runs.
New Enemies, Bosses, and Gameplay Adjustments
Season 12 adds a few gameplay changes that are meant to improve the overall Tower experience:
- New monster types have been added
- New tilesets and art assets have been added
- Tower bosses now deal significantly more damage
- The number of enemies defeated needed to complete the Tower has been reduced
- New Tower bosses have been added
- Treasure Goblins killed in the Tower now drop better rewards
These adjustments should make runs faster but more dangerous, and that means you will need to focus on stronger builds and cleaner execution.
Leaderboard Improvements
Blizzard is also making it easier for you to track your performance on the Tower leaderboard. New interface improvements include:
- Your best Tower rank now appears in the top right of the leaderboard menu
- A new “Jump to Me” button that instantly shows your leaderboard position
- A new end-of-run summary screen displaying important statistics from your run
These changes should make it easier for competitive players to analyze their performance and track ranking progress.
Bug Fixes
Season 12 also fixes several issues that previously affected Tower runs, including:
- Leaderboard runs being incorrectly listed as solo instead of duo
- Runs extending past the intended 10-minute time limit
- Certain bosses becoming invisible during combat
- Rare layouts where players could damage enemies from the starting area
- Fixed an issue where Eternal characters could enter the Tower, and that was definitely not intended
And more:
Tower Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the Mastery Goblin would persist after the progress bar filled.
- Fixed an issue where there was a chance to spawn into a tower layout where the player could damage monsters without leaving the starting circle.
- Fixed an issue where the Sower of Decay Guardian boss could turn invisible if hit by their own skill.
- Fixed an issue where a duo run could be listed as a solo run on the leaderboard.
- Fixed an issue where a Tower run could be extended past 10 minutes if the boss was summoned right as the timer was set to expire.
- Fixed an issue where Eternal characters could enter the Tower.
- Fixed an issue where environmental hazards could kill enemies in the Tower before the player enter the level.
Although these improvements are already arriving in Season 12, Blizzard has confirmed that the Tower remains in beta, meaning more adjustments will probably be made as players continue providing feedback. With new enemies, stronger bosses, and improved leaderboards, Season 12 promises exciting Tower runs for players who want to climb the rankings.
