Diablo 4 Season 15 Brings Back Iconic Boss Fights and Locations From Past Games

Season 15 of Diablo 4 feels like a celebration of the franchise’s 30-year history. We’ll get to revisit plenty of familiar faces, both friend and foe. Deckard Cain, Diablo’s most beloved character, returns as our guide and mentor, leading us through perilous new dungeons called Nightmares.

Nightmares are a new type of challenging content introduced in Season 15. They come in two main flavors: Prime Evil Nightmares and Waking Nightmares.

Prime Evil Nightmares recreate iconic locations and boss fights from previous Diablo games, with each culminating in a battle against a Prime Evil. Players will get to revisit the Worldstone Chamber and face Baal, the Lord of Destruction.

Another Nightmare takes us back to familiar Act 3 locations from Diablo 2, including Travincal and the Durance of Hate, culminating in a showdown with Mephisto.

The third pits us against Diablo himself. Instead of returning to Diablo 2, this Nightmare recreates settings from the original game, including the Caves and Hell, where we’ll face the Lord of Terror in his original form.

Waking Nightmares, on the other hand, focus on Lesser Evils such as Duriel and Belial. Returning locations include the Den of Evil from Diablo 2 and the Halls of the Blind from Diablo 1.

The developers also recognize how much familiar voices contribute to the experience, so returning characters will retain their original voices and dialogue.

Season of Hell’s Legacy looks like pure fan service, bringing together some of the most memorable locations, demons, and characters from Diablo’s past
