Skipping the Campaign Now Unlocks All Waypoints in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 Season 11 finally introduced a small but very welcome quality-of-life change for players who like to skip the campaign.

What Changes When You Skip the Campaign

From now on, characters that skip either campaign automatically unlock all non-stronghold waypoints for their chosen region. This applies to both the base game and the Vessel of Hatred Nahantu region.

In short, this means that you no longer need to run across the entire map just to activate basic fast travel points. You can jump straight into the content you actually want to play.

This change applies to returning players and new seasonal characters as well. If you skip the campaign, you can immediately start open-world activities, dungeons, and endgame systems. Strongholds still need to be completed manually, but everything else is ready from the start.

This update was already mentioned in the Season 11 patch notes, but its impact becomes very clear once you start a new character.

2.5.0 Build #69713 (All Platforms)—December 11, 2025

  • Characters that skip either campaign now unlock all non-stronghold waypoints for their respective region.

It might be a simple change, but it makes leveling and early progression feel so much better. This is especially nice in a season such as Divine Intervention, where many players want to try the Paladin or experiment with new builds without wasting time on map cleanup.
