Diablo 4 PTR Datamining Strongly Confirms Warlock as Second Class

The leaked Diablo 4 class artwork from yesterday now appears to be much more than speculation.

The same dataminer who originally shared the concept art, inudax, has posted a follow-up on Reddit confirming that the class name and artwork are present in the 2.6 PTR files. According to the datamining, the second expansion class is listed internally as Warlock, together with a high-resolution version of the previously leaked art.

Inudax’s Reddit post:
I posted the leak yesterday: X2 2nd class concept art leaked : r/diablo4
Now beyond a doubt this is true by 2.6 PTR datamining, new class: Warlock (See file name)

The file name itself is doing most of the talking here, clearly referencing a Warlock update linked to the upcoming expansion. Although Blizzard has still not officially announced the class, this kind of PTR data strongly suggests the leak is legitimate.

From Speculation to Strong Evidence

Yesterday’s discussion was largely about visuals and themes. Players debated Blood Knight, Warlock, or some entirely new archetype. Today’s post changes that conversation in a rather big way.

Now that the class name is showing up directly in PTR data, the Warlock theory is no longer just a guess based on aesthetics. It works perfectly with what a lot of players expected, especially given Diablo 4‘s current direction and the themes surrounding the Lord of Hatred expansion.

Why Warlock Makes Sense Here

Community reaction has been very positive so far. Most players feel Warlock fits naturally into Diablo’s world as a dark caster focused on curses, corruption, and demonic power, without being too similar to the Sorcerer or Necromancer’s identity.

Lore-wise, the timing also feels right. A class built around forbidden magic and pacts contrasts cleanly with the Paladin‘s light, and it fits neatly into an expansion centered on Mephisto and darker forces affecting Sanctuary.

Still Not Official, But Hard to Ignore

To be clear, though, Blizzard has not confirmed anything publicly yet. As with all PTR datamining, things can change before release. Nevertheless, class names appearing directly in expansion-related files are about as close as leaks get to confirmation without an announcement.

On top of that, there is also another image that has recently been shared within that same Reddit post, by user Anilahation, displaying even more Lord of Hatred-related content:

At this point, it feels less like a rumor and more like a matter of when Blizzard chooses to officially show or announce it.
