<p>The <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/tower-leaderboards/">Tower &amp; Leaderboards</a> will finally be coming out of Beta in Season 14, and with it come new rewards.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Leaderboard Ranks</h2>



<p>Participating in the Tower on any given week and reaching Tower Tier 100 or higher will grant rewards. Additionally, rewards will be based on the following Leaderboard ranks:</p>

<li>Top 500 on any leaderboard</li>



<li>Top 100 on any leaderboard</li>



<li>Top 10 on any leaderboard</li>

<p>At the end of each Leaderboard reset, players will be awarded with rewards based on their ranking. These rewards will be granted on the first login after the weekly reset, and include:</p>

Earn New Rewards for Participating in the Diablo 4 Tower & Leaderboards in Season 14


<p>The Sanctuary Sitdown, Blizzard&#8217;s community Q&amp;A hosted on Discord, has wrapped up, and the developers covered a wide range of topics. From sweeping changes to how Mythic Unique items work, to a look at the Season 14 gameplay loop, to some welcome quality-of-life news, there was plenty of substance. Below are the most important things we learned.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mythic Unique Items Are Getting a Major Overhaul</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-ptr-brings-changes-players-have-begged-for/">As we covered earlier today</a>, the biggest talking point from the Sanctuary Sitdown was the changes coming to Mythic Unique items.</p>



<p>Going forward, <strong>any</strong> Unique item in the game can drop or be crafted into a Mythic. When an item rolls as a Mythic, all of its affixes are set to the maximum roll (though not Greater Affix level), and the item&#8217;s unique power becomes 30% stronger. Players can also modify these new Mythics in the Horadric Cube, giving them additional flexibility.</p>



<p>The &#8220;old&#8221; Mythics, the ones players have been hunting and building around, now carry the <strong>Iconic Mythics</strong> label. Blizzard has nerfed some of these, and importantly, the Cube <strong>cannot</strong> modify them. These items have always been distinct from other Uniques, and this rebrand aims to maintain that distinction.</p>



<p>We also received clarification on which features are permanent and which are likely to be seasonal flavor-only. Unique items having the ability to drop as a Mythic are permanent additions to the game, but the developers indicated that Mythic crafting will likely remain a feature for Season 14 only.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Charms and Seals Are Getting Attention</h2>



<p>The developers acknowledged that several charms and seals are underperforming. In response, they said they are actively working to make them more competitive while also introducing more of these items. As a specific example, the <img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Talisman_206.webp" alt="Seal of the Golden Epiphany">Seal of the Golden Epiphany has had its negative effect entirely removed. Previously, equipping it reduced your total charm count by 2. That penalty is gone, the Seal now simply allows you to equip up to 3 Unique Charms without any downside. Players can now simultaneously enjoy a 3-piece set charm bonus <strong>and</strong> have 3 Unique charms active at the same time.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Season 14&#8217;s Seasonal Loop: Ruptures and Realmwalkers</h2>



<p>The Sanctuary Sitdown gave us a clearer picture of how Season 14&#8217;s progression will work. The core loop revolves around completing <strong>Ruptures</strong> that lead into <strong>Realmwalker</strong> encounters.</p>



<p>There are two higher-tier Rupture types capable of spawning Realmwalkers. The first, <strong>Surging Ruptures</strong>, can replace any Helltide event and functions similarly to the Blood Maiden. When this event activates, all players currently in a Helltide zone are alerted. The second, <strong>Colossal Ruptures</strong>, is tied to a brand-new seasonal Lair Boss located near Zarbinzet. This version operates on a set timer and guarantees a Realmwalker will spawn, giving players a more structured way to target the encounter.</p>



<p>Blizzard has also significantly reworked the Realmwalker fight to feel more like a World Boss, both in mechanics and in-game presentation.</p>



<p>Reapers from Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls are confirmed as primary enemies in Season 14. Could this mean a return of the Angel of Death, Malthael? This remains to be seen.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Loot Filter Changes in Season 14</h2>



<p>For players hoping for Loot Filter updates, such as enabling the feature for couch co-op, the developers confirmed that no Loot Filter changes are planned for Season 14. They noted that they are still collecting feedback on the feature, suggesting changes may arrive in a future update.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Quality-of-Life Updates</h2>



<p>Several smaller but meaningful quality-of-life changes were discussed during the Sanctuary Sitdown:</p>



<ul>
<li><strong>XP from Hordes</strong> has been increased, and Aether scaling on all Reward Chests has been significantly boosted. The developers noted this may not be reflected in the current PTR build, so don&#8217;t be alarmed if you don&#8217;t feel the impact of this change.</li>



<li><strong>Mephisto cutscenes will be skippable</strong>. A frequently requested change has been implemented. This also won&#8217;t appear in the PTR.</li>



<li><strong>Account-bound War Plans</strong> are under investigation, but no confirmation has been given.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SSF Clarified: You Will Still See Other Players</h2>



<p>We were given a bit more information on the upcoming Solo Self-Found (SSF) mode during the Sanctuary Sitdown. SSF only restricts partying and trading, but it does <strong>not</strong> create a fully isolated experience. Players in SSF will still see other players out in the Overworld, including Helltides and World Boss encounters.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Leaderboard Integrity Is a Priority</h2>



<p>The developers addressed leaderboard concerns directly, stating that leaderboard integrity is a <strong>top priority</strong> for Blizzard. While no official stance was given on whether wipes or resets will happen as the Tower moves out of Beta, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-tower-leaderboards-delayed-fix-incoming/">the current leaderboard pause</a> is a clear signal that Blizzard is willing to take decisive action to keep the competitive environment clean and fair.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Will Solo Self-Found Be Like in Diablo 4?</h2>

<p>Solo Self Found, aka SSF, is an optional character state that allows you to limit your character&#8217;s progression, but only by obtaining gear that you find naturally. You are truly on your own. By selecting Solo Self Found, the following changes occur:</p>



<ul>
<li><strong>SSF characters must be Seasonal only.</strong> They can also be either Normal or Hardcore.</li>



<li>SSF characters cannot join parties or trade with other players.</li>



<li>SSF share their own stash, currency, Paragon, and more only with other SSF characters on their account.</li>



<li>Free Trial, Couch Co-Op, and Dark Citadel are unavailable for SSF characters.</li>



<li><strong>Selecting SSF for that character is permanent for the duration of the season and cannot be changed</strong>. At the end of the season, SSF characters will revert to Eternal characters with the ability to group and trade again as normal.</li>
</ul>



<p>Those brave enough to adopt this alternative mode will be a part of the <strong>exclusive SSF-only Tower Leaderboards</strong> to show off their true solo prowess.</p>



<p>Additionally, with the addition of Solo Self Found, the following Filters have been added to Leaderboards:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Is the Point of SSF?</h2>

With trading being a part of many ARPG&#8217;s, players often enjoy an SSF mode because those who climb the leader board don&#8217;t have any outside help. Without SSF, any player can buy or trade their way to the best gear or get into farming groups, which ultimately makes the grind easier or even skipped in certain cases. Thus, making some members of the community feel as if their place on the leaderboard was bought rather than earned.</p>



<p>So those who indulge in SSF are already playing solo, making it a good way to keep their scores separate. Ensuring a leaderboard for honest solo grinding players. Plus, it’ll play <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/tower-leaderboards/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">a major role in shaping endgame content like The Tower.</a></p>

<p>Blizzard has just posted the blog for the season 14 PTR, and with it come new updates and quality-of-life changes to <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/war-plans-overview/">War Plans</a>.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">War Plans Party Sync Feature</h2>



<p>A new feature is being added, which will allow players to sync their War Plans with their party. When all party members are in Temis, a <strong>New Plan</strong> prompt will appear, costing <strong>2 Marks of El&#8217;druin</strong>, which all party members can vote on. When all players accept the vote, the person who initiated it resets their board, and the new board will be pushed to everyone else in the party.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">War Plans Updates</h2>



<ul>
<li>War Plan activity XP scaling has been increased for Torment 8 and higher.</li>



<li>War Plan base activity XP has been increased for the Infernal Hordes.</li>



<li>War Plan progress for Helltides has been changed from opening chests to collecting cinders.</li>



<li>New War Plan quests and nodes added for Helltide and Escalation Sigils.</li>

<p>You’ll need to do the following to sync your Plans:</p>

<li>Your party must all be in Temis.</li>
<li>The prompt <b>New Plan</b> will only appear if you are in a party.</li>

<p>If you select <b>New Plan For Party</b>:</p>

<li>It costs 2 Marks of El’Druin.</li>
<li>When selected, the party will see that a member of their party has initiated the vote to re-roll all War Plan boards and sync them.</li>
<li>If <b>all</b> players accept, the person who initiated the vote resets their board and that exact one is then pushed down to the other players.</li>

Blizzard has posted a PSA confirming that the Tower and Leaderboards launch has been <strong>temporarily delayed</strong> as of May 28, 2026.</p>

<p>Leaderboard integrity is the entire point of competitive modes like this. Blizzard removed Diablo 4&#8217;s original leaderboard system in Season 6 precisely because it was too easily exploited. The current Tower system was designed with that history in mind.</p>



<p>Rushing a leaderboard launch with known ranking issues would repeat exactly the kind of mistake Blizzard is trying to move past. Sitting on a delay until the problem is understood and resolved is the right call, even if it is frustrating for competitive players who were ready to push for placement today.</p>

<p>There has been a lot going on in Diablo 4 this season. From the release of the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/warlock/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Warlock</a>, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/lord-of-hatred-overview/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lord of Hatred</a>, and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-secret-cow-level-finally-found-the-hunt-is-finally-over/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the Secret Cow Level</a>, there&#8217;s never been a better time for Blizzard to flood the cosmetic store. At the start of the season, Blizzard dropped another Warcraft Legends cosmetic set, and now the Starcraft skins have returned to Diablo 4 as well.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Starcraft Is Back in Diablo 4</h2>



<p>While it&#8217;s likely that the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-adds-new-wow-tier-2-sets-in-warcraft-shop-crossover/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Warcraft cosmetics and Reliquary</a> will stick around for another month, the sudden return of the <strong>Starcraft Legends skins will only be available for 9 days</strong> at the time of writing. So here is another chance to grab Terran, Protoss, and Zerg cosmetics before they vanish back into the void for another unknown amount of time.</p>

But like every new item that comes into the store, there&#8217;s always the concern of criticism for being too expensive. </p>



<p>While the Starcraft &amp; Warcraft skins look absolutely stunning, the selling point of <strong>25$ per skin</strong> is a little too rich for many Diablo 4 players. Even with the second return of Starcraft, many fans were hoping there would have been at least a little bit of a discount.</p>

<p>Another year passes in the Sanctuary as we approach the 3rd anniversary of <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/">Diablo 4</a>, and Blizzard has announced the rewards that will be available from <strong>June 2</strong> until <strong>June 9, 2026</strong>.</p>



<p>Starting on June 2, the <strong>Mother&#8217;s Blessing</strong> buff will increase XP earned in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.</p>



<p>Additionally, the <strong>March of the Goblins</strong> event is back with its reputation board that awards the <strong>Regalia of the Sacred Creed</strong> for completing the final rank.</p>



<p>A <strong>free cosmetic skin</strong> will also be unlocked in the in-game shop each day:</p>

Celebrate Diablo’s Anniversary with Increased XP, March of the Goblins, and Free Cosmetics


<p>One month after the launch of Lord of Hatred, Diablo 4 players have completed the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4s-hatreds-downfall-community-challenge-explained/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hatred’s Downfall</a> Community Challenge and unlocked the Crown of Hatred cosmetic helm.</p>



<p>The challenge was simple, but daunting. Players had to earn 266,600,000 Paragon Points across the Diablo 4 community. Every player contributed simply by playing and earning Paragon progress, regardless of whether they were on the Seasonal or Eternal Realm.</p>



<p>Now, that goal has been reached. Blizzard has <a href="https://x.com/Diablo/status/2059351026277257317" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">announced</a> that players have “successfully brought about Hatred’s Downfall,” and the Crown of Hatred can now be claimed by logging in and visiting the in-game shop <strong>until June 30</strong>.</p>

<p>To put this achievement in perspective, it would have taken 888,667 players all reaching Paragon 300 to unlock this reward. Obviously, most players never reach the pinnacle of Paragon power, giving another indication of just how successful LOH has been in terms of player retention. <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-player-count-explodes-to-new-record-on-steam/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Steam</a> data has shown all-time high player numbers, but those peak at around 60,000. To unlock this helm, there must have been well over a million wanderers grinding Paragon Points over the last month.</p>



<p><a href="https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/article/24267729/prepare-for-the-reckoning-lord-of-hatred-draws-near" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Blizzard describes</a> the Crown of Hatred helm as “imbued with the hate directly from Mephisto.” It’s a huge horned skull helm with black demonic horns and a golden skull faceplate. It’s wearable by all classes and seriously awesome, but it’s only available to claim until June 30, so make sure you grab yours soon.</p>
