Eternal to Seasonal Character Transfer Glitch Mostly Fixed

It seems Blizzard acted quickly after the Eternal to Seasonal exploit became widely known. In case you aren’t aware of this glitch/exploit, head on over here for the full story.

As reported by Zach Bitango, after talking to Blizzard he has now tested and confirmed that “90%” of the exploit issues have been resolved. It seems it’s still possible to actually get to the Seasonal realm with Eternal characters and vice-versa (at least for now). However, you can’t do much once there. Zach explains that you can no longer trade items nor gold (since you can’t be in the same shard as your Seasonal party member anymore). You also can’t boost the Seasonal character by running dungeons for them. This could leave the Seasonal blessings affecting Eternal characters issues active, however.

Also, we’re not sure whether these particular fixes address the recently discovered related extra bug. With it, Eternal characters can equip 10+ Malignant Hearts in all gear sockets. We’re not sure if the Hearts in the non-jewelry slots ever worked, but if they did they might still work. You can read more about that bug here.

In any case, thanks to Zach Bitango and everyone else who raised awareness of this exploit so Blizzard could get it fixed fast!
