If you are still working through the Doom reliquary in Diablo 4 Season 12 and need more Dark Ages Currency, there is a very informative, related Reddit thread this week that had some useful answers on where to farm it efficiently.
Where to Farm Dark Ages Currency
The currency drops mainly from champion and elite enemies, which means not every activity is going to be worth your time. Lair bosses, the Pit, Infernal Hordes, and Kurast Undercity are not great sources. You want content with high elite density.
The top recommendations are:
- Den of the Apostate (Capstone Dungeon located in Kehjistan): This is the most recommended spot by far. The first area is full of elites and gives roughly 15 to 30 currency per run if you clear everything, not just the required enemies.
- Nightmare Dungeons: A good alternative, averaging around 10 to 20 per run on Torment 4. Running Nightmare Dungeons is especially useful if you need Obducite at the same time.
- Helltides: Slightly slower per run but more varied. Players reported over 50 currency per hour, and leaving a minion build on auto at the Blood Maiden spot works well too.
The most important detail is simply that most of the currency comes from elite and champion enemies, so activities with high density tend to perform best.
What to Do With Leftover Currency
If you already bought everything in the reliquary and still have currency piling up, unfortunately there is nothing left to spend it on right now. Players in the linked thread (above) pointed out that this feels like a missed opportunity, and it is hard to disagree. Being able to spend excess currency on shop bundles or extra rewards would have added a nice chase element to the end of the season.
