Found a Diablo 4 Exploit? Here Is What You Can Do About It

Exploits are always a big topic in Diablo 4. Some players use them for quick and easy rewards, others worry about unfair advantages. Blizzard just dropped a community post clarifying how they handle these situations, and it is quite interesting and important to take a look at it.

Can a Blue Clarify TOS on Sharing Exploits?

If a player encounters an exploit, we want you to feel free to report those things to us for investigation. Bringing visibility to these things is helpful to the team. If you discover something that is not working as intended, and is an exploit, that is not an actionable offense such as using a known exploit to benefit or actively encouraging others to do so. Often, these are bugs or unintended interactions, and are not exploits, but we need to be aware of the issue to make that determination. Hope that helps!

Community Manager Lyricana explained in a comment on the official forum that if players encounter an exploit, they should report it directly so the team can investigate. Not every weird interaction or bug is an actual “exploit,” but reporting them helps Blizzard figure out what is broken.

What Counts as Exploiting

Using a known exploit to gain benefits, or encouraging others to do so, is against the rules. But simply discovering a bug and reporting it is totally fine, and actually encouraged. You will not get into any trouble for reporting a bug, as long as you are not actively using it to gain more loot or level faster, or things like that.

Diablo 4 has had its fair share of “oops” moments, from dungeon farming bugs to loot exploits that went viral. But Blizzard’s reminder here feels just like a “If you see something, say something” type of nudge to the community.

So if you run across something that feels too good to be true in Diablo 4, Blizzard wants you to hit report instead of farming it. Because let’s be honest, the last thing anyone wants is another round of exploits breaking the game and ruining the fun for most players.
