<p>Today, we have improvements on traversing Naigtal! More bouncy mushrooms have been added to the zone, and you now get a slowfall effect while mounted, so no more fall damage.</p>



<p>Besides those, we also have QoL changes, with the quest for Tier 6 Ritual Sites being available in Silvermoon. Also, the Defying Gravity World Quest once again works, while the World Boss Predaxas is up.</p>

Naigtal Travel Improvements, Quest QoL Changes: Midnight 12.0.7 Hotfixes, June 22nd


<p>With the launch of Diablo 4&#8217;s latest expansion, the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/warlock/builds/">Warlock</a> has been added to the game as the second class to be featured in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/lord-of-hatred-overview/">Lord of Hatred</a>. Following in the overall theme of Light versus Dark and Good versus Evil of the story, the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/paladin/builds/">Warlock</a> serves as the diametrically opposite end of the spectrum to the Paladin, in more ways than just one.</p>



<p>While the Paladin has been a relatively straightforward class, the Warlock&#8217;s core mechanics have involved more intricate synergies in the form of Skill Tag sharing, as well as long damage setups and arduous buff upkeep.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Warlock in Season 13</h2>



<p>With it being the new class in Season 13, the Warlock has been the season starter for many players, as shared by <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/mephisto-has-already-killed-704000-diablo-4-players-since-lord-of-hatred/">Blizzard&#8217;s latest stat infographic</a>. While the class has been sitting comfortably in the middle of the pack, a few builds have stood out.</p>



<p>The Apocalypse build has been packing a serious punch in terms of damage, with it being the highest pushing Warlock build, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/seven-diablo-4-classes-cleared-pit-150-but-paladin-is-still-behind/">capable of clearing a Pit Tier 150 in just over 12 minute</a>s, while also one-shotting Lair Bosses.</p>



<p>The Command Fallen Lunatic build has also emerged as a very good all-rounder, comfortably clearing all content in the game while also being on the less complex end of the spectrum as far as Warlock builds go.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Clunky &amp; Complicated</h2>



<p>One of the biggest issues with the Warlock has been its reliance on setting up damage windows and keeping up important buffs. The class relies on juggling many 10 to 15-second buff windows before it can deal damage, which makes the class feel clunky and slow.</p>



<p>An example of such a buff would be the Command Soul Shard Demon skills, which are necessary for activating the bonuses of the Horazon&#8217;s Chains set. Another issue with these spells is their long casting animation, which makes the gameplay feel clunky and sluggish. Other examples would be summoning multiple Greater Demons for the 2-set bonus of the Horazon&#8217;s Chain set, or activating a Sigil for the Rite of the Nameless set bonus. The class could benefit from seeing a reduction in the number of upkeep buffs it has to maintain, to allow for a more fluid playstyle.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Resource Situation</h2>



<p>The Warlock is unique in that it uses two different resources. One of these two resources, Dominance, is used for summoning most Greater Demons (such as Tortured Wretch and Porfane Sentinel), but it is also used to cast many of the Warlock&#8217;s utility spells (such as Rampage and Tyrant&#8217;s Grasp). While having multiple skills and skill categories share the same resource is not inherently an issue, the problem comes with the regeneration of Dominance. It being a limited resource and not generating as fast means that the Warlock needs to be very careful with spending it before becoming unable to cast any utility.</p>



<p>A possible solution for these issues would be to convert some skills to being cooldown-based, instead of having a resource cost. A prime example would be the Rampage skill, which would allow the Warlock to jump around without having to worry as much about resources or having to choose between spending resources on mobility versus damage.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Visual Clutter</h2>



<p>Another issue with the Warlock is the flashy visuals, which often cover the entire screen. Many skills, particularly the Hellfire ones, have bright visual effects that make it hard to see what is going on. This is especially egregious on the Apocalypse build, since Apocalypse covers the entire screen in flames. This can often make it hard to notice dangerous enemy effects on the ground, such as explosions or poison pools.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Final Thoughts</h2>



<p>Diablo 4&#8217;s newest class definitely feels unlike any other in terms of both theme and mechanics, but it comes with the downside of being overly complex and clunky. If the above pain points are fixed, then we are looking at a very unique class that has a decent variety of build options.</p>

Diablo 4’s Warlock Hits Hard, but Its Clunky Setup Is Holding It Back


<p>Diablo developers offer a deep dive into how the climactic boss encounter for the Lord of Hatred expansion came to be in the latest video.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Highlights</h2>



<p>For anyone who still hasn&#8217;t played through the Lord of Hatred campaign, the highlights contain spoilers.</p>



<ul>
<li>The team has been pushing the mechanics and gameplay for the genre and their titles for the Mephisto fight.</li>



<li>The goal was to pay off the in real-time three-year-long-story players have experienced with Mephisto.</li>



<li>For the player character it is the most significant thing that&#8217;s happened to them, possibly ever.</li>



<li>Phase 0 with Akarat came about a make-a-wish, a nice-to-have because the devs were stoked after the cinematic at the end of the first expansion. That was a promise between the devs and the players that you&#8217;re going to fight not just Mephisto but Akarat wielding that sword.</li>



<li>In terms of balancing the pinnacle boss, the Uber fight they wanted a phase where they could be a little meaner to the players.</li>



<li>Phases 1 &amp; 2 are mean, but they were designed to have very deliberate and slow attacks that the more you play it the more you realize that you can dodge almost all of them.</li>



<li>The Akarat phase gave Blizzard the opportunity to throw a lot of unfair attacks at the player to filter them out.</li>



<li>This allowed them to have no checkpoints for the fight, because the front-loaded a lot of the pinnacle difficulty, so if you are going to fail, you will do so early. </li>



<li>Having that tension, that quiet before Mephisto is such a fun thing to play with as a writer to then really just have it explode when he falls into the Pools.</li>



<li>Ferrofluid has a lot of different forms in the game.</li>



<li>Phase 2 is really big and loud so they had to carve out various frequencies for different attacks. When the arm blades come out, you get much more of a sharper sword swing, because that cuts through the mix more versus when Mephisto does the giant ground slams that&#8217;s got your big, bassy explosion and that takes u pa lot of room dynamically. </li>



<li>There&#8217;s a bone crunch sound when his rib cage opens, and more.</li>
</ul>

Blizzard Announces Diablo 4 Developer Update Livestream on June 23


<p>Hell is coming to the Fog. During the Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary broadcast, Behaviour Interactive officially announced a crossover with Blizzard Entertainment&#8217;s Diablo franchise. The Diablo IV Collection is set to arrive in October 2026, bringing new cosmetics for both Killers and Survivors.</p>



<p>The headline reveal from the collaboration is a Legendary skin transforming The Artist into Lilith, the Mother of Sanctuary. Dead by Daylight&#8217;s official social channels confirmed the crossover with an early look at the cosmetic. The pairing feels like a natural fit; both characters have an imposing, otherworldly presence.</p>

<p>The broader Diablo Collection draws heavily on Diablo IV for design inspiration, with familiar faces reimagined to exist within the Entity&#8217;s realm. Behaviour teased that Survivors will become &#8220;everything from Necromancers to Barbarians,&#8221; suggesting the collection may span all eight of Diablo IV&#8217;s playable classes.</p>



<p>October is historically Dead by Daylight&#8217;s biggest season. Timing a Diablo-themed collection alongside Halloween is a fitting choice for two of gaming&#8217;s darkest franchises. <p>Thus far, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/echo-of-mephisto-boss-fight-guide/">Mephisto</a> has defeated <strong>704K</strong> players and players have slain together a whopping <strong>392 billion </strong>monsters.</p>



<p>The infographic also provides us with an updated look at class popularity. While Paladin arrived 6 months ago with the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfnvWkUIA8Y">expansion&#8217;s pre-orders</a>, it&#8217;s still not as popular as Warlock.</p>



<p>So far, players have created <strong>2.1</strong> <strong>million Warlock</strong> characters compared to <strong>1.4 million </strong>Paladins.</p>

All New Basilisk Mounts Added in Diablo 4 and How to Obtain Them


<p>If you have ever watched a party vote timer tick down while a couple of anonymous checkmarks stare back at you, this one is for you. A new suggestion making the rounds on the Diablo 4 subreddit asks Blizzard to show player colors in the vote popup so the party can immediately see who has readied up and, more importantly, who has not.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Problem with the Current Vote Popup</h2>



<p>As it stands, every vote pop-up in Diablo 4 only shows how <em>many</em> players have accepted. This menu gives the party no indication of <em>which </em>players those votes belong to. This inevitably results in confusion. As the timer ticks down, someone asks in chat, &#8220;Who isn&#8217;t ready?&#8221; while the vote expires anyway.</p>



<p>It is a minor friction point, but it is constantly present in Diablo 4. Playing in a group has become the most efficient way to experience the game. Because the same anonymous vote interface gates nearly every shared action a party takes, you bump into it dozens of times per session, no matter what you are farming. Every failed vote is ten seconds of dead air multiplied across four players.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Proposed Fix: Player Colors on the Vote Popup</h2>



<p>The suggestion presented in the Reddit post is elegantly simple. Diablo 4 already assigns each party member a color, which is used for party frames, map markers, and other UI elements. The community&#8217;s ask is to reuse those existing player colors on the vote popup itself, attaching each accept/pending indicator to the colored marker of the player it belongs to.</p>



<p>With that one change, any vote popup in the game would tell you at a glance that blue and green are ready to go while yellow is still rummaging through their stash. This avoids unnecessary chat messages, guessing if the party should pause, or awkwardly restarting the vote. This is a request to surface information the game already has, not a larger UI refresh.</p>



<p>Players have been <a href="https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/qol-vote-status/207065">raising the same </a><span style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px"><a href="https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/qol-vote-status/207065" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vote-popup complaint on the official forms</a> since</span> 2024, asking Blizzard to indicate which party member has not readied up. The Reddit thread is simply the latest of a long-running quality-of-life ask.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why This QoL Change Makes Sense</h2>



<p>Blizzard has shown a willingness to ship exactly this kind of UI improvement in recent seasons, from large overhauls such as the addition of a loot filter to smaller UI improvements across crafting menus. The vote popup fix has a low development cost, zero balance implications, and an immediate benefit to everyone who plays in a group, every session.</p>



<p>There is also a social benefit. Right now, a failed vote adds confusion. Someone is holding things up, and nobody knows who. Showing player colors removes the ambiguity and turns a minor annoyance into a non-event. Usually, the &#8220;culprit&#8221; is just someone mid-inventory or grabbing a drink.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Will Blizzard Act on It?</h2>



<p>There is no official response yet, but community-driven QoL suggestions have a strong track record of eventually making it into Diablo 4, especially when they are cheap to implement and repeatedly requested. With the vote pop-up complaint resurfacing season after season, this feels like a prime candidate for a quick fix to a longstanding pain point. </p>



<p>Until then, keep trying &#8220;who&#8217;s not ready?&#8221; into party chat, and maybe drop an upvote on the thread while you are at it.</p>

This Change in Diablo 4 Could Fix One of Co-op’s Most Annoying Moments


<p>With <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/tier-lists/">Season 13</a> soon coming to a close, the meta has settled, so let&#8217;s take a look at the current Pit Tier Rankings and compare how each class is doing, as well as the overall balance of the game.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Runs</h2>



<p>The following post uses data from <a href="https://helltides.com/pit">Helltides</a>, which records top Pit Tier clears for each class. <strong>Seven</strong> out of <strong>eight</strong> classes have timed a <strong>Pit Tier 150</strong> so far.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sorcerer Tier 150 Pit Clear</h2>



<p>Sorcerers have been dominating the leaderboards with extremely fast clears thanks to the Ball Lightning build. It took 곽끝순 just 1 minute and 50 seconds to clear a Pit Tier 150.</p>

<p>Warlocks, the newest addition to the game, have also joined the other classes in clearing a Pit Tier 150, with [INF]蓝萌君@玉米 timing one in 12 minutes and 9 seconds, using the Apocalypse build.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Necromancer Tier 150 Pit Clear</h2>



<p>While there is only one recorded run of a Pit Tier 150 for Necromancers, [INF]秋葉@黑巫师【血潮】has timed it in 12 minutes and 55 seconds.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Druid Tier 150 Pit Clear</h2>



<p>With just 1 second difference, Druids are following right behind with [GG] NeverMind timing a Pit Tier 150 in 12 minutes and 56 seconds with the Companion build.</p>

<p>While the top Rogue runs have been clearing Pit Tier 150 in barely over a minute, those runs have been abusing a bug with The Umbracrux dagger.</p>



<p>However, [INF]Maenam has timed a Pit Tier 150 in 14 minutes and 14 seconds without the bug.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Paladin Tier 146 Pit Clear</h2>



<p>In last place, and the only class to not time a Pit Tier 150 this season is the Paladin. The fastest run recorded is a Pit Tier 146 by Synthec&amp;Dream in 13 minutes and 29 seconds.</p>

Seven Diablo 4 Classes Cleared Pit 150, but Paladin Is Still Behind


<p>Blizzard has uploaded a new video on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@Diablo">Diablo&#8217;s YouTube channel</a> where Diablo 4&#8217;s Art Directors show us Skovos through their eyes in an exclusive behind-the-scenes look.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sense of a Color Progression</h2>



<p>Very early on, one of the Art Directors has mapped out a color guide for how you want the environment to look. Visually as a player, as you&#8217;re moving through, you don&#8217;t want the same color palette. Fortunately, the expansion has a story that allowed them to ramp those colors up, as you move through the game.</p>



<p>The color progression is tied to what&#8217;s happening in the campaign.</p>



<p>Skovos is the origin of all humanity, so you have remnants of that culture dotting the isles. You see signs of the original culture and the new Askari living on top.</p>



<p>The zone feels Mediterranean-esque with lots of touch points that make it feel familiar and the colors are reminiscent of what you expect of a culture that&#8217;s surrounded by water.</p>



<p>The intent there is to take you down that typical Diablo path where things get dark and gloomy and full of doom, but they needed to create visual contract so that the journey feels meaningful.</p>

Diablo 4 Art Directors Show How Skovos Turns From Bright to Grim


<p>If you logged into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4</a> this week and noticed the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/earn-new-rewards-for-participating-in-the-diablo-4-tower-leaderboards-in-season-14/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tower and leaderboards</a> had suddenly disappeared, you are not imagining things.</p>



<p>A few days ago, Blizzard unexpectedly disabled both the Tower and its rankings because they needed to investigate an issue that could potentially affect leaderboard results. The announcement was short and offered very little information beyond a promise that the team was looking into the problem.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Blizzard Fixed the Problem, but Did Not Explain It</h2>



<p>When the Tower was taken offline, Blizzard said they had identified a few issues that could impact leaderboard rankings and wanted to make sure the mode remained fair for everyone.</p>



<p>What those issues actually were, however, remains a mystery.</p>



<p>They never explained if the problem involved exploits, incorrect score calculations, ranking errors, or something else entirely. Instead, the next update arrived with a much shorter message:</p>
