If you are playing Diablo 4’s Lord of Hatred expansion, you are probably discovering all the amazing things the new Horadric Cube system can do, and it turns out it is even better than we thought.
Most players have been experimenting with gear crafting and item upgrades, but the Cube’s Amalgamation recipe also works on things like Tributes, and you can use it to turn your lowest rarity Tributes into one of the rarest consumables currently available in the game.
You Can Upgrade Tributes Into Mythic Versions
The Amalgamation recipe in the Horadric Cube is most likely one of the best options to play around with. As long as you have more than 5 of the same item or consumable, you can basically put it in there and find out you are getting something way better in exchange. This works with gear, charms, talismans, but also boss materials that will grant you Unique items, for example. But if you turn in 5 Tributes of Armaments, you can eventually get a Mythic one! And that means more chances to get a ton of Mythics at the end of your Tribute run.
You have to turn in 5 Tributes of the same type and rarity to create 1 higher-rarity Tribute, and yes, this scaling goes all the way up to Mythic rarity.
- Go to the Horadric Cube
- Place 5 identical Armament Tributes inside
- Select the Amalgamate recipe
- Transmute them into the next rarity tier

Only Tributes of Armaments can be turned into Mythic Tributes of Armaments! And you first have to turn your lower-quality ones into Legendaries, and then 5 Legendaries into one Mythic.

When you then use your Mythic Tribute in the Kurast Undercity, you will have an increased chance of dropping one or more Mythic Uniques. We did a few runs, and we always got 2 or more Mythics from it, so it is really worth it.
A Good Way to Get Better Drops
Normally, Mythic Armament Tributes are extremely rare drops obtained through activities like the Tree of Whispers, but thanks to the Cube system, you can now “upgrade” their way toward them instead of relying entirely on RNG.
So make sure that you never throw out or randomly use any Tribute of Armaments, and keep them to transmute them into Mythic ones!
It is not something many would think to test right away, but once you know that it works, you will start to farm for Tributes just to be able to turn them into Mythic ones. Most experimentation with the Horadric Cube has focused on gear crafting, charms, or talismans so far, but this could end up becoming one of the most efficient long-term ways to target Mythic Unique farming in Season 13.
