Dear Crafters of Light, are you ready for the next update in Final Fantasy XIV? In Patch 7.31, there’s a new Cosmic Exploration planet to explore and the next Phantom Weapon relic upgrade too! Be sure to check out the full patch notes over on Lodestone.
If you’re looking for something to do in Patch 7.31, why not check out the following suggestions? We’ve come up with a few various ideas before Patch 7.35 arrives in October, but you can certainly add more!
1. Craft and Gather on a New Planet: Phaenna!

The next Cosmic Exploration update requires all hands on board to Phaenna! This new planet has plenty of quests to complete, and rewards to obtain! The new mounts are only obtainable with Phaenna credits (not Lunar credits!), so better grab your tools~
Speaking of tools, what about enhancing your Cosmic Tools? Patch 7.31 introduced the next relic step and it requires completing more stellar missions! Better collect as much research data as you can 👀 If you need any help, feel free to check out our Cosmic Exploration guide on Icy Veins!
2. Don’t Let Gerolt Mess With Your Phantom Relic Weapons!

In Patch 7.31, Gerolt returns to help you craft the ultimate Best-in-Slot weapon yet… or so it seems. Be prepared, Warriors of Light: you’ll not only need to craft yourself, but also light farm for the next Phantom Weapon step. Don’t take me too literally though, as you may be busy for two weeks straight!
A term popularized by ARR relics, light farming makes a comeback in the Phantom Weapon series. You’ll need to farm Aether to fill up the Aetherwell Array, done so by completing various Duty Roulettes. To learn more, check out our guide on Icy Veins!
As a bonus, check out this post below by X user @RubiaNeko! Translated, the post shows how many units of Aether you’ll get from each duty roulette, depending on which one you get. Thankfully this step is one-time only, so better get to farming!
3. Obtain Padjali Weapons Faster in Palace of the Dead

There’s also a new update to Palace of the Dead‘s Aetherpool system! You can now enhance your gear five times faster, with higher success rates before reaching Floor 101. In addition, defeating bosses will now increase your Aetherpool gear by 10 levels, not 1.
There’s still an Aetherpool gear limit before Floor 51, but at least you can farm Padjali weapons faster now! Defeated enemies also drop sustaining potions, so perhaps it’s time to become a Necromancer?
Patch 7.35 is fast approaching (in a month)! Hopefully you’ll enjoy September with these new content, Warriors of Light~ And if not, it’s the perfect time to rest up before the upcoming Deep Dungeon update 👀
