Good tidings, Warriors of Light! It’s Day 1 of Final Fantasy XIV‘s latest ultimate raid, Dancing Mad, and everyone’s racing to be #WorldFirst before the end of the week. 😎 Whether you’re a hardcore raider or simply here for clown town, we’ve got you covered this ultimate season. Here’s everything you’ll want to know while the race is going on.

Where to Unlock Dancing Mad (Ultimate)

If you’re looking to try Dancing Mad for yourself, head on over to the Wandering Minstrel located in Tuliyollal at (X:11.1 Y:14.6). You’ll need to have a Level 100 Disciple of War or Magic, and also have cleared the duty AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage). Players are recommended to have a BiS gearset with an average item level of 790 or above — this may vary between jobs, so check your gear before heading in!

If you need a refresher on how weekly rewards work in Ultimates, feel free to review the Patch 7.51 notes on the Lodestone.

While the race to clear Dancing Mad (Ultimate) first is ongoing, our Dancing Mad guide on Icy Veins can keep you company too. Be sure to check back frequently, as strategies and mechanical understanding will change over time! This will be the perfect resource for everything you’ll need when learning the raid later on — even years from now — so be sure to bookmark!

What Do the Dancing Mad Weapons Look Like?

Check them out yourself over in Solution 9! You don’t need to unlock the duty to preview the items, thankfully. Talk with Uah’shepya at (X:8.6 Y:13.5) and select to view Totem Gear (Kefka). The Dancing Mad weapon series is named under “Palazzo Diamond”, so if you ever need to search for the weapon, use that phrase instead!

To exchange for these awesome, shiny, and new weapon glamours, you’ll need Mad Harlequin’s Totems. Of course, you’ll need to clear the ultimate first, and the weekly reward lockout will stay until the next patch — so don’t expect to collect all the weapons ASAP. Patience is key in Ultimates, trust me. 😅

We can at least preview the weapon glamours before committing, and future Jobs may get Dancing Mad weapons as well 👀. If you’re on the fence about which weapon to choose, feel free to save your totems for an Evercold day in 2027. Just don’t throw your totems out accidentally (it happens).

Where Can I Watch #WorldFirst?

If you’re new to the world race scene, you can check out the historical data for Dancing Mad on MogTalk. They’ve got a leaderboard that’ll track each streaming team’s live data as they make progress. MogTalk also hosts the community-based races, sometimes with some nifty prizes to win too. 👀

Want cool #DancingMad #WorldRace merch, even if you’re not participating? 25% of every purchase will go towards the Games for Love non-profit charity. And if you’d like to donate directly, you can use MogTalk’s fundraiser instead.

Searching for the World Race on YouTube may be a little tricky, so you can feel free to keep track by watching MogTalk’s livestream instead. We do recommend supporting your favorite FFXIV streamer whenever possible!

For an alternative, you can also consider the FFLogs leaderboard. I won’t say how exactly these groups can track their progress, but you can check out any progressing teams who are “Now Live” on Twitch, right from the convenience of FFLogs itself.

And if you just want check out random FFXIV gamers, check out the FFXIV Twitch category! Most streamers will also tag their streams with #FFXIV, so keep an eye out there too. 👀

Excited to see who will win the Dancing Mad race? Hopefully we won’t see cheaters this time around — I think the community’s been through enough. 😅 But this is a time of excitement and curiosity, so put on your thinking caps, gamers! We’ll need every braincell we can get to solve the mad clown’s Forsaken puzzles, lest we go mad ourselves. 🤡
