Dancing Mad (Ultimate)

Released with the 7.51 Patch on the 2nd of June, 2026, Dancing Mad (Ultimate) is the seventh ultimate difficulty raid to come to FFXIV. This raid is focused on the primary antagonist of Final Fantasy VI, Kefka. He previously made an appearance in FFXIV as the final boss of the second Omega raid tier, where Omega ran simulations of powerful opponents throughout the Final Fantasy multiverse. This ultimate raid is a re-imagining of the events of that Omega simulated battle with the notorious villain.

Dancing Mad (Ultimate), commonly abbreviated as DMU, or UMAD in some regions, can be unlocked by speaking with the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal at (X:11.1, Y:14.6) after completing the AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage). You can find our guide Heavyweight M4 (Savage) here. This fight requires a full party of eight players. DPS checks and incoming damage are tuned to the assumption that all eight players are in full i790 Best-in-Slot. Being undergearred will be a significant disadvantage to both survival and damage checks. You can find Best-in-Slot sets on each job's page of this website.

Completing Dancing Mad (Ultimate) rewards the player with the achievement Son of a... Icon Son of a..., the title "Cruel Legend," and one Mad Harlequin's Totem Icon Mad Harlequin's Totem, which can be exchanged for an i795 Palazzo Diamond Weapon at Uah'shepya in Solution Nine (X:8.6, Y:13.5).
