Dancing Mad (Ultimate) Guide & Overview

Ultimate raids are the pinnacle of difficult content in FFXIV. Currently, there are six of such raids in the game. The development team has confirmed in previous Live Letters, streams hosted by the development team that discuss future patches and content coming to the game, that there will be a seventh Ultimate raid coming to the game with the 7.5 patch cycle.

On April 17th, 2026, Game Director Naoki Yoshida hosted the 92nd Live Letter, during which the trailer for the 7.5 Patch was shown. The end of the trailer featured a teaser where Kefka, a boss from the Omega raid series, can be heard saying, "Did you think you'd won? Guess I'll have to spice things up!" with his face appearing briefly. No further information was given until North America Fan Festival.

On April 24th, at North America Fan Festival, Yoshida showcased a teaser trailer for the Ultimate specifically, where we were given a confirmed release date and the official name of the ultimate: Dancing Mad (Ultimate). The teaser trailer did not give many hints as to what would be coming in the raid, but snippets of "God Kefka," his powered up Phase Two form from the savage version of the fight, were shown. It was also confirmed during this showcase that the new Ultimate will be releasing on June 2nd, 2026.
