Autumn is here, and that means Black Mages witches, pumpkin spice lattes, and trick-or-treaters showing up at your door. This also means Halloween-themed festivities in video games! 🎃
Final Fantasy XIV is no exception with its annual All Saints’ Wake event. This year’s festivities run from Thursday, October 15th at 4 a.m. (EDT) to Monday, November 2nd, at 9:59 a.m. (EST).
As always, each year’s event offers different items for players to earn. Here’s how to initiate the event and what rewards you can expect!
How to Begin the All Saints’ Wake Event
To begin the event, you must be at least Level 15 on a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic job. If you meet this requirement, head to Old Gridania to speak with the Pumpkin-headed Apparition at X:10.2, Y:9.4 in Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre to begin the “We Scare Bears” quest.
Keep in mind that there will likely be a second quest, given what previous events were like. Last year, for example, we had the “Frights of Fancy” and “Dressed to Impresario” quests. Only after completing the second of the two quests were we granted access to the event items.
What Items Are Available This Year?
This year’s All Saints’ Wake event is “grisly bear” themed. Not surprisingly, players this year can glamour as frightful, stitched-up teddy bears. There are only two pieces of attire, but that’s all we need since the bear suit acts as the entire set below the head:
Furthermore, you can obtain furnishings for your in-game house or apartment. These include official All Saints’ Wake artwork from previous years!

Chat with the Bespectacled Peddler in Old Gridania at X:10.3, Y:9.0 just outside of the Amphitheatre to obtain your items. In past events she wore a top hat and monocle, in case you have difficulty finding her in a sea of your fellow players.
Can I Acquire Any Other All Saints’ Wake Items?
Yes, you can likely purchase select items from previous All Saints’ Wake events. The FFXIV Online Store will almost certainly have seasonal decorations and other items available after the event begins. If there was a certain mount or emote you missed in a past year, you might be able to snag it this time.
On a final note, if you’re in a Free Company with a house or own a house yourself, be on the lookout for a trick-or-treat event in your virtual neighborhood. There also will likely be the annual “costume party” that’s part of the event. Just speak with the Unusual Usher and Genial Guiser, who usually hang out in the Amphitheatre, for access as in past years.
