Tomorrow’s Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 livestream is supposed to be the big reveal for Season 3, but HoYoverse apparently could not wait that long. Out of nowhere, the developers dropped a huge gameplay showcase focused entirely on Roscaelifer, and the video is definitely hyping us up before the Special Program even begins.
And honestly, the city looks huge, the new characters look really amazing, and the gameplay seems really unique and new… It is definitely going in the right direction!
Bangboo Are Taking Over Roscaelifer
The first thing that stood out to me when I was first watching the video was just how many Bangboo are running around.
They are everywhere.
Not just the normal ones either. Some have ridiculously long legs, some seem to work in shops, and others are just casually wandering around town. Roscaelifer feels much more alive than previous towns, and definitely a lot weirder in the best possible way.
The video also shows a few new locations we can visit, including a new coffee shop, various stores, and what appears to be a replacement for the old lottery stand. Instead of a dog handing out rewards, there is now a giant teddy bear-looking character offering mystery boxes filled with cookies, donuts, and other goodies.
New Activities, Exploration, and a Personal Room
There is a surprising amount going on in the video.
Belle can be seen wearing the new customizable outfit that will be available in Season 3. If you remember the one we got at Suibian Temple, it is basically the same functionality. You get one skin, and then small items to make it more personal. A couple of scenes suggest we will gain access to special Bangboo-related items to reach hidden areas around the city.
We also get a glimpse of Eous flying around independently to activate mechanisms and solve environmental puzzles. It looks like some parts of Roscaelifer will require us to explore using Eous rather than simply running from objective to objective.
Another interesting detail is what appears to be a progression or management system linked to the city. The video does not explain exactly what it is, but it gave me similar vibes to the Suibian Temple management systems from Season 2.
You also seem to get your own room inside Roscaelifer, and it seems more customizable than the one at Suibian Temple was? But that remains to be confirmed.
And yes, there is apparently a Bangboo battle arena. It looks like it could be multiplayer, but that remains unclear. The video definitely shows Bangboo fighting each other in what looks like a dedicated minigame.
Pyrois, Norma, and Velina Finally Get More Gameplay
The second half of the video focuses more on combat.
Pyrois gets a lot of screen time, and honestly, his movement alone looks incredibly fun. At one point, he is literally racing across rails at high speed before jumping straight into combat. I really hope he will be given for free!
Norma and Velina also appear throughout the video, giving us a much better idea of how the first Season 3 characters will play. Since Pyrois is closely connected to the main story and the main characters, there are a lot of chances for HoYoverse to make him free to obtain. Nothing has been announced yet, so take that with a grain of salt.
Did HoYoverse Just Tease Remielle?
The final few seconds of the video may end up generating the most hype. Right before the video ends, we briefly see Remielle watching from above, looking down toward what appears to be the area where Belle and Wise will be operating in Roscaelifer.
It is only a short scene, but it feels very deliberate. Is she protecting us, spying on us, or planning something entirely different? That remains a mystery for now.
Thankfully, we will not have to wait much longer. With the full Version 3.0 Special Program going live tomorrow, there is a good chance many of those questions will finally get answered.
