With the 5.7 update for Genshin Impact being just a few days away, HoYoverse has been shining the spotlight on Skirk, the upcoming 5-star Cryo sword character. Alongside new lore reveals and her official trailer, players also discovered some important changes during the beta. Here’s what you need to know!

Skirk Gets Nerfed in 5.7 Beta

The latest leaks have revealed some changes to Skirk’s kit, especially regarding her interruption RES and Particle Generation! You can take a look at the leak on Reddit:

While those changes may not seem like much, it means you will most likely require to take a shielder with you, and Dahlia, who is releasing during 5.7, is probably the perfect fit.

One highlight is that Skirk still has strong energy generation! When any Cryo DMG hits an enemy, she generates 4 Cryo particles (15s cooldown). This includes infused Normal Attacks, like if you use Chongyun‘s Skill to give her Cryo-infused normals, those count.

Skirk and Childe’s Shared Past

On a good note, Skirk’s latest trailer also released, and it’s giving us a nice look into her past with Childe! You can watch the trailer here:

Skirk isn’t just a swordmaster, she’s also a teacher, mentor, and mystery. In this trailer, we get a look into her past with Childe, including adorable scenes of a tiny Tartaglia.

More than fighting, Skirk treats training as a lifelong journey. As a student of Surtalogi, Great Sinner from Khaenri’ah, she still holds many mysteries and secrets that may be revealed soon.

Should You Pull Skirk?

Despite the nerfs, Skirk is still going to be a high-skill, high-reward Cryo DPS. If you like characters with deep lore, flexible playstyles, and unique mechanics, she’s worth saving for.
