If you’ve been playing Genshin Impact on the Playstation 4, you may want to upgrade your console soon! Starting September 10th, 2025 at 06:00 (UTC+8), Genshin Impact will no longer be available on the Playstation Store. Let’s find out how you can continue playing Genshin Impact later this year!
According to the official HoYoLAB article from the developers, due to “hardware performance and platform application size,” Genshin Impact will no longer support Playstation 4 updates in future versions. This doesn’t impact any players currently playing on Playstation 5 or other devices.
The developers will discontinue game support in three distinct phases:
- (1) Game Removal on September 10th,
- (2) Delisting In-Game Purchases on February 25th, and
- (3) End of PS4 Update Support on April 8th.

When to Stop Playing Genshin on the Playstation 4
After September 10th, 2025 at 06:00 (UTC+8), Genshin Impact on PS4 will be removed from the Playstation Store. Until then, players can continue to enjoy the game as normal.
If you haven’t played Genshin Impact on the Playstation 4 before, you won’t be able to search or download the game.
If you have, then you can continue to re-download it anytime. This is possible even if you don’t currently have Genshin Impact on your console. Until the delisting happens, you can also continue top-ups and purchases through the Playstation Store and In-Game Shop.
After February 25th, 2026 at 06:00 (UTC+8), you won’t be able to purchase anything for Genshin Impact on PS4 from the Playstation Store nor the In-Game Shop. If you haven’t claimed any purchased items, you can pick them up until April 8th, 2026 at 06:00 (UTC+8).
By April 8th, 2026 at 06:00 (UTC+8), MiHoYo will officially stop all updates and support for Genshin Impact on PS4. All players will be unable to log into servers from the PS4 console. If you have any purchased Playstation Store items still available, you’ll need to claim via logging into Genshin Impact on PS5 instead.
How Do I Continue Playing Genshin in 2026?
Starting from December 17th, 2025 at 12:00 (UTC+8), if you open Genshin Impact on PS4, you’ll be prompted to bind other login methods. You can also access the User Center, such as through the in-game Paimon Menu (Settings > Account > User Center).

If you’re already playing on other supported devices, then don’t worry! This information is only relevant to players still on the PS4, and may need time to transition to a new platform. All players on supported devices can continue to play the game as normal.
