Stygian Onslaught is back for version 6.2 of Genshin Impact, and players didn’t even make it through the first day before finding a bit of tech to trivialise part of it.
As always, Stygian Onslaught brings in 3 suped-up versions of bosses with new mechanics and the hardest Dire difficulty being nearly exclusively for whales. Even so, the second boss, the Battle-hardened Iktomisaurus ended up being far easier than expected when players tried a simple fall damage trick using Jean.
Jean Fall Damage Shenanigans
As shown in the video below by Novb Make, a simple Jean team using Amber’s Elemental Burst can quickly break the Iktomisaurus’s Cryo Shield. As the boss is falling, use Jean’s Elemental Burst to grab the enemy while dragging them along Geo Traveler or Zhongli’s Geo Construct to deal massive fall damage as it hits the ground repeatedly.
This is also the boss most designed around Durin, making this team great for those not planning to pull on the current banner and allows you to focus your teams on the other 2 bosses of Stygian Onslaught.
Will This Be Patched?
It is entirely possible that HoYoverse will quickly hotfix this to ensure the Iktomisaurus is immune to CC while falling. That being said, a similar setup using Jean was possible in the last Stygian Onslaught, allowing players using even a lv20 Jean to clear. Even if this does not get fixed, the team will likely be even more vigilant in future versions of Stygian Onslaught.
